I don't know if anyone noticed Monday nights game but a winless team (Dolphins) were going at it against a potencial Super Bowl contender.

I use to think one of the most crazy games I saw was when the mighty 49ers would play the Saints. Both teams solid in fact some call the 49ers of that time one of the greats with Montana at the helm. To see the outcome of the score as 6-3 I just thought 'crazy'. Monday night however beat that.

3-0. This day in age even a shut out is impossible you would think with the advancement of the passing game and rules to favor scoring. Not to mention a power house going up against a winless team. I know people want to see lots of touchdowns and high scoring because its so exciting. But what about the drama of a toe to toe, all out man to man combat, battle in the trenches.

When I turned the channel in the 4th quarter I didn't imagine the score being such nor would I be interested in the game but I sat down and watched and was excited about the game.

Do you know the lowest score on the record books is... 2-0 back in 1932 and 1938 both games featured the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers. Monday night was pretty close. Now I don't suspect those games were 'ugly', but the one Monday night wasn't either. It was exciting to see who would score and win.

But I did realize one thing; for all the reasons all those years ago what few fans there were, they love the game and they are the same reasons we love the game now. Yes, Football is still football.

- Houston's Defensive line was better than our Offensive line.
- Houston's Offensive line was better than our Defensive line.
- Houston's WR's were better than our Defensive backs.
- Houston's DB's were better than our WR's.

Positives
-Saints Punter.
-#18 Cooper on Special teams with a great play when Houston tried a reverse Kick off. Cooper stayed stayed in his lane, stayed home and was able to make a great shoe lace tackle.

The Saints lost this game to a better football team. Some may find that shocking but game was a good indicator of why Houston's draft pick of Williams was a better football pick than Reggie Bush in the long run. As a football team over-all they are better, they out played us in every faucet of the game. Reggie Bush pick was a business decision and a business decision ONLY.

We are no better or no worse than we were 3-4-5 years ago.

Poor and inconsistant play on both sides of the ball. This team isn't built to impose there will on other teams and failing to make adjustments during the game. You can point your finger at anyone and anywhere you like but the Head Coach is responsible. He is to see to it people are doing there jobs and set the tone and philosophy where the team is headed. Also, to fix whats going wrong with the ship before it sinks.

Good news: they are still in the hunt to make the playoffs and win their division.

This is a pivotal year for Sean Payton as a Head Coach. Will he learn from his mistakes. What adjustments will he make during this coming off season. Will Sean Payton stand up be accountable for his actions and correct whats wrong with the team and make them a legit contender.

The next question we need to ask ourselves; "are we going to give him the time to build a team and learn his lessons?"

TODAY: November 8th marks the 37 year old record of the longest field goal in NFL history. Tom Dempsey still hanging on to the record he established in 1970. I know this will go unnoticed this year by its good that we take a moment out and reflect on this feat, well ok his foot.

Most Saints become legends based on well that not so good things. Other than that, we have not to many Saints that go off and become NFL Legends. But here read up on a GREAT SAINT LEGEND and an NFL LEGEND.

Problem for the NFC and the New Orleans Saints

Since 1998 the Super Bowl has been dominated by the AFC winning 6 of the last 8 Super Bowls and currently enjoying a 4 game win streak. The elite teams in the NFL are resting in the AFC with the likes of Colts and the Patriots. You can also look at several other AFC teams who can be serious contenders to the thrown. While in the NFC it can be a crap shoot.

The problem is that were have all the rivalries gone? When teams seem to excell is when they are being pushed by a rival. Every great team had a great rival. When the 49ers regin supreme they had the Saints, yes Saints pushing them. It seemed at times both were building in the offseason to beat the other and both teams shared success and winning seasons. Cowboys had the Redskins but seriously when do you tune in to watch that so called bitter rivalry game anymore? More people will be watching the Colts vs. Pats this weekend. The rivalry may not be bitter but its an interesting and exciting one that has developed with the likes of 2 future hall of famer QB's.

Now the problem for the Saints is to find a rival. But who? Bears... that all but fizzled this season after last years NFC Championship game. Eagles seems to have fizzled this year as well. Our division foes have seriours issues and really aren't being taken serious by anyone as a potencial contender. We need to find a team and build a rival with to save us and bring us to greatness. Will a real rival please stand up...
