CB in the 2008 Draft: Round 1 top 20 pick

None of these guys have set themselves apart from each other. They all bring additional skills to the board. The problem is this, while the CB position is deep it does not have a group of truly great CBs. So the results is mock drafts have a lot of teams taking risks this year that they would never take in 2007. I would not be surprised to see CB become more of a hot item in round 2 and on the opening of day 2 with round 3 than in the first round like so many think.

What to do on the OL?

I am trying to figure out what the saints are going to do in two years. Strief will be a FA in 2009. So I am using this as a timetable in this blog. In 2006 the Saints started rebuilding this unit and I want to see them finish it. We have to much money in the backfield to protect. We are close but how close are we? What additions and what kind of shuffling does this team need to do in order to compete against the elite DL in the NFL. Yes I want to run against the likes of the Vikings and Ravens....

How to improve this team for 2008

Unlike most people I am not caught up this emotional roller coaster ride we are on in 2007. This is year 2 of building a team. Yes there are growing pains. The pain for me is the lack of rookie involvement on the field. I am sure it is the same with most of you. We expect to get a couple of instant starters like we did in 2006. But to date the only real contributor has been CB young. Thomas has yet to get involved in the game except as a kick returner....

Glamore Position in Flux for 2007

TE
Eric Johnson - 28
John Owens - 27
Billy Miller - 30
Ronnie Ghent - 27
Mark Campbell - 31 (IR)

I actually like the group as a unit. Like the defensive unit some youth would be nice. Johnson has teased us with his abilities at TE and we have yet seen him do half the things he can do.

Draft watch

Darius Hill*, Ball State, 6-6, 233, 4.67, Ball State in the 4th

WR
Marques Colston - 24
David Patton - 33...

Offensively There is NO Reason to Panic over the Offensive Line.

Over the last two off seasons the Saints have slowly pieced together what could be on of the best offensive foundations in the NFL. Now before you guys get the tar and feathers out for me, hear me out. Here is what we have to work with: Youth

LT - Jammel Brown - 26, Jermon Bushrod - 23
LG - Jamar Nesbit - 30, Andy Alleman - 23
OC - Jeff Faine - 26, C/G - Johnathan Goodwin - 28
RG -...
