What will the Saints options be at No. 11?

Predicting the Top 10 of the NFL Draft and the options the Saints will have at Pick No. 11…

With no wrinkles, trades, this is how I think the top 10 will play out...

01) Cleveland - DE Myles Garrett - Currently the consensus No.1 pick, Cleveland though is under a lot of heat for a franchise QB; however, there’s a 1 in 3 chance they trade back to get more picks to rebuild a roster with little talent.

02) 49ers - DE Jonathan Allen - John Lynch will want to avoid being linked with Matt Millen and will work to rebuild that 3-4 defense first, but there's equal pressure to get a franchise QB; Allen is a flexible DL that will give them options in this draft and future drafts and makes him the smart pick which I believe Lynch will make; 1 in 2 chance they trade back as they also have a depleted roster from the Kelly fiasco.

03) Bears - QB Mitchell Trubiskey - GM Ryan Pace will be looking to move on from Cutler, long seen as the franchise albatross; don't discount the marketing factor this town has a large ethnic Polish population and the owners may keep Pace from making the pick for BPA.

04) Jaguars - DE Solomon Thomas - Many scouts have the Jaguars taking one of the top safeties, but after spending a pick on DB Jalen Ramsey, I think they address that non-existent pass rush rather than another DB.

05) Titans - WR Mike Williams - The real reason why the Titans didn't offer a great deal for Brandin Cooks was because they know this guy will likely be their next No. 1, and rightfully so.

06) Jets - CB Marshon Lattimore - Okay, I may be giving the Jets more credit here to make the right pick as there'll be great pressure for both a QB and RB, but losing Revis as they did, they'll want to replace him ASAP with the best prospect at the position in a few years.

07) Chargers – TE O.J. Howard. Now this is where the draft will get interesting. Chargers are in clear need of a No. 1 WR for Rivers, but Williams is off the board (unless they move up for him) and WR Corey Davis is recovering from surgery. But Rivers also needs protection and Ramcyzk may be a reach which I don't think he is unless Ryan's still not healthy for OTAs. They also need a pass rusher opposite Joey Bosa, but they just spent a first round last year on pass rusher. The Best Players on the board is a draw between S Malik Hooker, recovering post-surgery, and S Jamal Adams. Short of a trade back with say, the Saints, San Diego, err Los Angeles, likes its Tight Ends and selects O.J. Howard.

08) Panthers – S Malik Hooker. Everyone has the Panthers taking either Fournette or Cook as everyone who knows anything about this team is that Cam Newton thrives only in the play-action pass with the run game being primary for the Panthers. Newton struggles to hit the side of a barn, his numbers come on big plays to wide open WRs. But Fournette disappointed his last season and Cook has had multiple shoulder surgeries. Carolina has made its mark on defense and running the ball, and the pass defense has been a sieve with the defensive back free agency departures. After overpaying in free agency to retain on defensive line, they address the back half of that defense.

09) Bengals - LB Reuben Foster. Why is it every year we have very clear needs to get to the next level, Cincinnati is right there two picks ahead of us with the same needs?!? Before Free Agency, I'd bet the Bengals would select one of the top WRs if all healthy, to give Dalton easier reads. But Marvin Lewis lost a lot of talent in free agency. As a defensive coach, I think that's the direction he goes and he takes Foster and his dynamic abilities to rebuild that defense.

10) Bills – S Jamal Adams. Now, the Bills are another team like the Bengals who had some significant losses in Free Agency. And they have both holes in their roster (e.g. CB, WR, RB et al) as well as areas needing to be upgraded (QB). Coach McDermott though built a stout 4-3 defense in Carolina and he follows that formula in Buffalo. And while I could see him wanting a DE, I think he sees the same problems I see with Barnett out of Tennessee in the NFL – size; and McDermott wants a big massive wave of humanity in his front four. Despite some good second tier signings in the secondary, he’s got to find an anchor for a secondary depleted by free agency and with the obvious value in Adams, he makes the right call.

    Very Possible IMO

Lattimore? please say no. hamstring injuries go all the way back to high school and has been an issue every year since.

Fournette - i would hope gets the phone ringing. if we take him it changes the draft big time for us. With this pick there is no screwing around you gotta load up the offense to keep defenses out of 8 in the box as much as possible. So a quality back up RT for the future (32 - Garret Bolles OT/OG/DT Utah), a fast solid #2 WR (42 - Chris Godwin WR Penn St), blocking TE upgrade. He needs a FB and room to get up a head of steam so add a back up to the shopping list just encase. Ingram sees his carries going into the dumpster and thinking "now we are a power running team? "

I see this as a possibility

    01) Cleveland - DE Myles Garrett
    02) 49ers - QB Deshaun Watson
    03) Bears - S Jamal Adams
    04) Jaguars - DE Jonathan Allen
    05) Titans - WR Mike Williams
    06) Jets - QB Mitchell Trubiskey
    07) Chargers – DE Solomon Thomas
    08) Panthers – RB Leonard Fournette
    09) Bengals - LB Reuben Foster
    10) Bills – CB Marlon Humphrey
