LSU's Offense Sucks!!!!

Why in the hell won't they give Flynn or Perrilloux a chance? Ever since Russell has been named the starting QB he has shown me nothing that say he is any better than the others! Flynn and Perrilloux were both top QB's coming out of high school so they can't be that terrible! They also have big and fast WR's so something somewhere isn't right! :fuming:

saintswhodi 09-27-2005 08:33 AM

I like Flynn and Perriloux too, but my problem is with Miles. This dude just does not impress me. The way he allowed our defense to be walked on at Az. State was atrocious. They played LSU defense in the first half against Tenn, then they went soft on offense and defense. They tried to just run the ball the entire secodn half, and not blitz. We got beat. Then, when theydid blitz, all Clausen did was throw a 5 yard out. At what point do they say, "Okay we are gonna blitz, we have two of the best safeties in the country, sit on the out and not play 10 yards off cause Clausen is dinking us to death?" I saw it at home every time I saw the blitz. Clausen would never have had time to go downfield, he just dinked us for 5-7 yards every time we blitzed and we took it, and then stopped blitzing. And then the offensive gameplan in the second half? WTF was that? Dive into the line, repeat on second down, have Russell try to make a play on third from the rollout. I am seriously unimpressed by Les Miles.

papz 09-27-2005 10:41 AM

Les Miles is a pansy. We had the ball with 2 minutes left and he practically had no faith in our starting quarterback. First play... run. Second play... run. Even the fans starting booing his sorry playing calling scared little girl arse. Third play... Russell rollout incomplete pass. At that point, I knew we were going to be doomed in overtime. Grow some F'ING nuts. This isn't Oklahoma State anymore... you're at LSU playing against the big boys. At LSU we play to dominate and win. If he can't understand that concept, his stay here will be short. With all the talent on this team, this game should have been a blowout.

The whole nation saw how much faith he had in Russell. Sad coming from a coach who doesn't want to start up a quarterback controversy which is the last thing our program needs. Absolutely poor coaching... I blame this loss solely on our staff.

saintswhodi 09-27-2005 10:47 AM

That's what I said. lol Miles is definitely a pansy. He is scared to allow the talent we have on this team win for us. Scared to blitz, scared to allow Russell to make plays. We have some of the fastest receivers in the country, a dominating O-line, and a dominating run game. What am I missing here? Russell looked confident in the first half outside of that fumble, but he looked like they stripped his balls in the second half. We curled up into a shell and let Tenn take the game. It was sickening. and you could see it coming too. Disgusting loss.

I whole-heartedly agree with everything that has been posted here thusfar, so I will not reiterate.

Who else here coiled up into the fetal position when Ainge was knocked out of the game?

papz 09-27-2005 05:52 PM

I've been saying for the past two years... Rick Clausen may not have the physical attributes of Ainge, but he's definately a better leader and decision maker. Anyone notice in games in which Clausen starts or takes the majority of the snaps, more than likely the games end up in a high scoring Tennessee winning affair...

Had Clausen started this game and with our coaching... we would have losted by more than 3 points. Les Miles :biglaser: It's bad enough our Saints are sucking it up right now, but an LSU loss just adds salt to the wound.

I know this is an old post but I sure hope you guys have changed your mind right now.

Miles is doing fine. You guys are downing the Tigers like they couldn't beat the Saints.

What gives??????

We'll see what happens against Florida... the jury is still out. Two losses would be absolutely devastating to our season. It's bad enough USC and Va Tech will probably end the season with no losses... even Georgia is ranked ahead of us. We need to make a statement this weekend and stomp the living crap out of Florida.

Halo 10-12-2005 11:05 AM

I don't know, 2 loses won't will a National Championship but look at who we have played this year. ASU almost beat USC and has a great offense, Tennessee is always going to be Tennessee, and Vandy is a very good football team, they just are. This may not be the year, next year will say a lot. I'm sorry but Jamarcus Russell is SEC player of the week. He's a good QB playing in his second season and had to share the season with idiot boy last year. If the team grows, LSU will remain a power. Also, just because Miles isn't emotional like Saban on the sidelines doesn't make him a puss. He learned a lesson against Tennessee and he ran it up against Vandy.

USC is going to drop some games along the line here. I think Notre Dame is going to be tough for them this week.

papz 10-12-2005 01:18 PM

I think USC will tear Notre Dame apart this week. USC is in a class by themselves. I think Weis is doing a fabolous job over there but I think it's still to early for him to overcome the talent that USC has.

I love Jamarcus Russell. To me he has Daunte Culpepper written all over him... which a good comparison. Cannon arm, large quarterback who can also make plays with his feet. No doubt LSU will be a power this year and for years to come. We do a great job recruiting and we have a solid defensive and offensive coordinator. I just hope Miles can return us to the promise land. I know it's pretty unfair for Miles coming into LSU, he has big shoes to fill. Maybe I along with others are being a bit harsh on him, but it comes with the territory. We have high expectations... hopefully Miles will be able to come through.

Halo 10-14-2005 10:23 AM

I'm not a Notre Dame fan by any means. Still think USC is vulnerable. They have teams gunning for them every week and I think their cometition has gotten better. Notre Dame is too unpredictable of a rivalry to say anything until it's over with. But we'll see.

papz 10-14-2005 12:03 PM

My final score is 42-24 with USC winning. Which is impressive considering USC has blown them out the previous 3 years by 30 plus points. But... that was pre-Weis. So I guess anything can happen.

saintswhodi 10-14-2005 01:55 PM

I don't think anyone is being too harsh on Miles, mainly cause I am one of the guys criticizing him. lol But the fact is, we should be undefeated right now. Another thing is we came out flat and undisiplined on offense in the first half of the Vandy game, outside of one great drive with Bowe and Russell as the stars. Yes we did blow them out in the second half, but when do we get two good halfs from this team and Miles? We played one half against Tenn, which was unfortunate it was the second half we didn't play. And we played one half against Vandy. The ASU game was just ugly. We had to win on a freaking miracle play. Now I am not saying Miles should be fired, but he needs to get his act together and soon. There is too much talent on this team for us not to be national title contenders. We better not lose to Florida.

SapperSaint 10-14-2005 07:47 PM

I won't say that people are treating Miles unfairly, but this is his first year with us. In the same breath, I wouldn't say I would take two or three losses, and be happy. We are a title contender that still gets no respect.

I do not think USC is the Prime team they have been. ND has been a shocker and I think they will run over USC. USC has had too many come from behind victories against so-so teams. If they give ND an opening, ND will seal the deal.

Sorry to talk about ND, Catholics are sworn to root for them as long as they aren't playing LSU.
