Players' pasts dotted with minor offenses

Fred Rouse arrived on the Florida State campus with plenty of promise. He leaves after just seven months without showing much more than a glimpse of the talent that made him a Parade All-American at Lincoln. He and Cornelius Lewis, a freshman offensive guard, were kicked off the team on Friday.

''Both players are dismissed for conduct detrimental to the welfare of the football team,'' FSU coach Bobby Bowden said in a statement.
