LSU versus Auburn

Come on fellas... what do ya think here? I went to LSU and I bleed Tiger but Auburn is pretty damn good. I think Auburn takes this is a close one.

I think we win. Auburn has two starting LBs out, Bowe can catch now, and Jamarcus has gotten better.

chRxis 09-16-2006 02:15 PM

the game will come down to lsu's d vs. auburn's o.... if we can stop irons, rush cox, and in turn move the ball on offense, we'll win.... won't even be close... i relly like our defense... lots of speed and eveen though they are young, they are great players that learn very quickly...

saintswhodi 09-16-2006 02:48 PM

Good points.

saintswhodi 09-16-2006 05:56 PM

Wow, we got screwed.

chRxis 09-16-2006 06:00 PM

yeah, we got screwed bad... unbelievably bad call on that pass int. call... don't understand that last play of the game nontheless.... oh well, just have to wait and see now... we had one loss when we won the national championship in 2003, so we'll see.... if only we'd have capitalized on that pick in the first quarter.... i knew that was important... c'est la vie...

chRxis 09-16-2006 06:03 PM

hopefully, we won't drop too much in the rankings... considering the #2 team in the nation is getting their butts handed to them by #11, maybe we won't.... if nebraska can beat usc tonight and florida beat tennessee, then we beat florida all will be well for a while till auburn loses to georgia and alabama... maybe a bit of wishful thinking but we'll see...

saintswhodi 09-16-2006 06:08 PM

Auburn has all their tough games at home. They may go undefeated. And considering how weak the Big 10 is, Ohio State will be undefeated. As well as prob USC again.

The problem is now that we lost to an SEC West team. Basically out of all of our big games this was the one we could least afford to lose. We would need Auburn to lose two games before the SEC championship to have a shot at the national championship....that is unless Auburn goes into the SEC championship with one loss and loses to a Georgia or Florida that already has 2 losses. But then again losing to a 2-loss team would probably eliminate us from any considerations anyway. It's not looking good.

chRxis 09-16-2006 06:26 PM

yeah i know, but for the sake of sanity let's not mention it.... ok?

LongTimeFan 09-16-2006 08:28 PM

I agree, we got screwed but now the Tigers have to take care of business the rest of the season...
Go Tigers!!!
Go Saints!!!

I know this is a LSU biased site, but I went to Auburn and all I can say is both teams played extremely well on the defensive side of the ball. Auburn may have gotten a couple of calls, but they don't call it home field advantage for nothing. None of the questionable calls brought back a score, just a potential score. The fact remains Auburn put the ball in the endzone LSU didn't. Auburn now has the inside track to the SEC West and the national title game. I think Auburn just passed the biggest test they will have all year.
WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!

By the way I was born in New Orleans and am a life long Saints fan.

Actually, the winner of the SEC champ game gets an automatic BCS bid. Even if we only had the one loss to Auburn, and the SEC East team had two losses, they would go to a BCS bowl game, and everyone else basically gets left out. Unless Auburn loses two, we are done. It sucks bad to go out that way.
