Ohio State embarassed....

Only goes to show, never mistake hype, for skill. That game was a joke. It never fails to amaze me, that with all of the football experts, weighing in, week after week, about who THEY think is the best team, that lately 70% of the time, they are dead wrong. After this game, I'm thinking both O.S., and Michigan shouldn't even have been in the top 5. Try 9th, or 10th.

HEY ESPN! Do you still think that the Big 10 is the best conference in the land? SEC..... recognize. LSU would have been in at no. 2 all season, if they were playing weak ass teams like Indiana. The SEC is by far, and away, the strongest conference in the NCAA, and that was proven tonite. I guess the "arguably best" can be laid to rest. Although I'm sure that some "expert" somewhere will disagree with me.

Sorry for the off topic. Just wanted to vent.

vent on brother, vent on. (but we do need to work on you a new avatar photo, that really creeps me out, haha)

Truth is, the SEC is the strongest conf. in college football. Schedule Boise State a few SEC teams next season, then lets look at their record.

Hands down SEC is, and its not just because I'm an LSU fan. How many of these flop bowl games do we have to go through before the BCS is exposed as B.S. and end the misery!!!! Man I reeeeally hate the BCS, its ruining college football.

SaintPauly 01-09-2007 03:19 AM

NO WAY! Farley fan forever! Heh heh

Back to the topic, my Dad made a statement over the holidays, that really wasn't far off base. He said he doesn't think it'll be too long before virtually every team in Division 1, will be in a bowl game every year. There are waaaayyy to many. It's time for a play off system, and it has been for a while now. Keep the major bowl names, and use them as play off games. Ditch the rest. College basketball, and baseball, and hell, even la crosse, has a freakin' play off schedule. It's long over due, and the powers that be, need to please the fans for once, and make it happen. Tonite's "title" game was a joke. Maybe that's why they wanted a rematch with Michigan, because they knew that Florida, or USC, would smash Ohio State. College football is reaching outrageous proportions in popularity, and it's time to go legit. In fact, it's way past time.

I thought the Gators didn't have a chance in this one, man was I wrong..
Can't say I'm happy with the Gators winning though..
LSU ended the season at #3, not a bad season..

Tobias-Reiper 01-09-2007 05:55 AM

The SEC representing!!! It's the Gators, ok, but they are SEC and damn what an asswhoop that was for a team that didn't score many points the regular season.

They should rename the B.C.S. the S.E.C. , and just give the national championship to whomever wins the SEC.

SapperSaint 01-09-2007 09:28 AM

if there was a playoff system it would have been Florida and LSU. The SEC IS the best!

dwiley21 01-09-2007 11:35 AM

The SEC is the top conference in college football! CONGRATS to my FLORIDA GATORS, and Congrats to LSU for a great showing and Sugar Bowl victyory. Now for the Saints to win it all to complete a dream sports year for me. OFF TO MIAMI!!!

fhotard 01-09-2007 12:57 PM

BCS = Bull Crap System!

It's a meaningless popularity contest. They might as well be voting for prom queen.

SaintPauly 01-09-2007 03:18 PM

I'm actually an Ole Miss fan. I know. We are waiting for Archie's grandchildren to get old enough to sign.

A play off system would help teams like Ole Miss, who can't seem to get ranked in the top ten, unless there's a Manning throwing the ball.

jergensl 01-09-2007 07:16 PM

SEC better than the Big Ten????
sorry you are wrong!
yes florida handed ohio state their butts, but wisconsin beat the 2nd ranked team in the SEC and wisconsin was only the 3rd best team in their conf.
yes USC destroyed Michigan, but USC also destroyed Arkansas.
the Big Ten has weak ass teams like indiana and northwestern, but the sec also has miss state, bama, and ole miss. none of those teams have done crap in years.
i live in SEC country, but Big Ten football is simply better than SEC football.

wheelman 01-09-2007 07:51 PM

I suppose that is why the Big-10 was 2-5 this bowl season, while the SEC was 6-3.

SaintPauly 01-09-2007 10:37 PM

Let me get this straight: Ole Miss, and Mississippi State? That's two, out of the entire conference. While the Big 10 boasts such "contenders" as Indiana, Northwestern, Illinois, Purdue, and Michigan State. Are you kidding me? LSU, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, Georgia,: 5 teams that have been ranked in the top 25 for the past 2-3 seasons. Alabama (Nick Saban), South Carolina (Spurrier), Kentucky (Butch Davis), all three teams on the rise, while Arkansas had a phenomenol season.

Here's another stat for you: The Big 10s most popular powerhouse, Ohio State, is 0-8 vs. the SEC in BCS bowl games. Just thought I would throw that out there.

Facts are facts. The Big 10 can't carry the SEC's jock.

SaintPauly 01-09-2007 10:40 PM

Oh. By the way. Alabama has been in bowl games the past two seasons, and was also in contention for a title game in 05. So I would say, that they have done something.

zioni504 01-10-2007 01:56 AM

Big 10??????????? Ha ha ha ha ha, I can't even take the comparison seriously! Wheelman says it all. Case closed.

Wrong again you are my little padawan. The SEC's #2 team was LSU (hence the reason LSU represented the SEC in place of Florida in the Sugar Bowl). So....Wisconsin didn't play the SEC's #2. If they would have, LSU would have handed them their a**es exactly like they did Notre Dame's. By the way, how did the Big Ten fair in their Bowl games? The SEC went 6-3 & won two of the biggest bowls in college football by landslides.
