Re: What Happened To Perilloux

Behavior problems, missing classes, and missing workouts. I think it's his final strike. I'm all for 2nd chances but this has become quite frequent. Time for LSU to cut ties.

Re: What Happened To Perilloux

Hope we're bringing in some new QB talent. Went from a full house to a pair not much... was really hoping Perilloux would be the answer. But I guess he can't beat the rap.

Re: What Happened To Perilloux

I don't know for a fact but I have heard the freshman, and Ryans (backup) are kick-butt QB's. Hope is far from lost.

Remember, when Stelz went down in the NC game, everyone said Coleman was going to get toasted....well, we all know that didn't happen. Our backups are starters on any other team in the nation.

No timetable for Perrilloux's return (2/28/08)
Miles: 'This is a very serious issue'

LSU football coach Les Miles reaffirmed at a Wednesday press conference his decision to suspend junior quarterback Ryan Perrilloux indefinitely with spring practice beginning Friday.

Miles said no timetable has been set for the return of his Southeastern Conference Championship Most Valuable Player, but Miles said he has not talked recently with Perrilloux.

"He could rejoin the team, but I don't have any specific dates," Miles said. "Dates aren't significant at this point. The real issue is to make sure he is going to class."

The fourth-year LSU coach buried the Perrilloux discussion near the end of his opening statement, saying he would "appreciate no further questions" on the matter.

"I don't want to spend a lot of time to talk about him," Miles said. "His responsibility is to do everything right to get back on this team. I am focusing on guys that are competing for jobs."

Miles said redshirt freshman Jarrett Lee and junior quarterback Andrew Hatch will split spring repetitions in Perrilloux's absence.

Lee did not throw a pass this past season, and Hatch completed as many passes as wide receiver Early Doucet and punter Patrick Fisher - one.

"These are the guys that we are going to develop and teach the position to in the spring," Miles said. "We have 15 spring practices, so we want to get to a certain level by the end of spring. All a quarterback has to do is execute the play that is called."

Perrilloux was listed on the spring practice roster handed to reporters Wednesday.

In his classic style, Miles remained tight-lipped about discipline, calling Perrilloux's action's "a very serious issue."

"It is not something I am going to speculate on or encourage conversation about," Miles said. "Those things should not be [the media's] business. You should go on to your jobs and enjoy yourselves. Relax in bliss in the fact that you don't know stuff. At some point in time, you will get to know stuff, and then it will be concrete.

"The reality of it is, this is a team member that is no longer a part of the team in the short term."

Other players that will miss all or some of spring practice include junior defensive tackle Charles Alexander, redshirt freshman offensive lineman Mark Snyder and junior offensive specialist Trindon Holliday.

Alexander will return midway through spring practice after missing the final 11 games of this past season with an ACL tear.

Holliday will forgo football obligations to compete in the indoor and outdoor track seasons.

Snyder is no longer with the team after back-to-back knee injuries.

Baseball players Chad Jones and Jared Mitchell will participate in the majority of spring activities.

Spring practice begins Friday and lasts until April 5 when the Tigers hold their annual spring game in Tiger Stadium.
