Re: National Champions LSU, Appalachian St. to Open 200

i really like watching app. st. qb armanti edwards but this is one game i don't want to see him win

Edwards started the 2007 by guiding Appalachian State to a 34-32 upset victory over then-#5 Michigan of the higher Football Bowl Subdivision on September 1, 2007 in a game that was named the "Biggest Upset of 2007" by Sports Illustrated.[1] In the game, Edwards threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns, also totaling 62 yards and a touchdown on the ground. On December 7, 2007, in a semifinal playoff game against Richmond, Edwards set the single game FCS rushing record, rushing for 313 yards and 4 touchdowns on 31 carries. He also completed 14 of 16 passes for 192 yards and 3 touchdowns. Edwards has been mentioned as a possible candidate for the Heisman Trophy in the 2008 season.[2]

Edwards has established himself as a threat through the ground and air, and has garnered elite status in the FCS football division. He and the Mountaineers won a third consecutive national championship in December 2007. They beat Delaware 49-21.
