Texas A&M to join the SEC soon?

Texas A&M Bolting to the SEC Is Just a Matter of Time -- NCAAFB FanHouse

The super conference builds by adding OU and Texas A&M ... possibly.

That could be cool!

ALLSAINTS66 03-28-2011 12:09 PM

Yeah so can we get rid of Vandy and Auburn for the total upgrade?

I don't think any conference in the South needs rich
uppity ****s. They belong in the Big East or somewhere like that.
And they should take Puke with 'em.

I say let's get UNC into the SEC and make it a REAL hoops brawl!!!

We need Bama and Florida. The strength of the SEC is straight
up Southern Fried Excellence and BOTH of those schools bring it.

SapperSaint 04-05-2011 03:07 PM

Oklahoma is so far from being a Southern State that is would be ridiculous to add them.

Texas is Texas. They are not part of the South, North, East Coast or West Coast. BECAUSE THEY ARE TEXAS!

The SEC doesn't need those schools. In the past 20 years the SEC has won 10 National Championships.

i can remember when lsu could'nt contain a&m, bad memories i guess, miles has it turned around now to where a 9 win season is skepticle.

I respectfully disagree. Oklahoma sided with the South in
The War Against Northern Aggression. As did Texans.

I'll take Okies and Texans any day over Auburn and Vandy.
The former are true Southern schools, the latter are
Carpetbagger schools.

From Wiki:
>>Founded in 1873, the university is named for shipping and rail magnate "Commodore" Cornelius Vanderbilt, who provided Vanderbilt its initial $1 million endowment despite having never been to the South. <<

And, my personal bifurcated Southron stubborn opionion about
Auburn is that it started out wonderfully. And then became
the hideous malignancy it is today after the war ended and
they sold out the ag & mechanical roots to some highfallutin'
bull honkey that attracts every fool this side of Bakersfield CA.
I only ever feel compassion for Auburn because they gave us
the Round Mound of Rebound hissef, and I just love that man.

Ahhh .... so we come full circle with LATEX, the new sovereignty ... with SkyMike as Prez and FF and Treasurer ... Strato as VP perhaps? We could be the new oil cartel of the south!

I wasn't meaning that Texas isn't a Southern State.

Most of the Texans I know refer to themselves as TEXANS not Southerners.

It was meant as a complement to all you Texans.

Vandy is a founding member of the SEC... they are not going anywhere. No matter how many losing seasons they have.

If the SEC takes a school... I would rather have A&M.

Just because OK sided with the South.... doesn't qualify them as a Southern State. England and France sided with the South. Are they Southerners?

Missouri is "Called" a Southern State but if you can't get sweet tea in a St Louis resturant..... you lose your Offical Southern State Card.
