Indianapolis - LSU linebacker Kelvin Sheppard met with the media at the NFL scouting combine Saturday, and one of the first questions asked was, "What was it like playing for Les Miles?"

"It was great. It was fun. All the things you hear, that just gives you more drive to go out and play for a man like that," Sheppard said of his coach, who became nationally known for his "Mad Hatter" persona during the 2010 season.

"All the heat he took from the different media only gave us bulletin board material," said Sheppard, who explained that he was normally the guy who gave speeches to the team on Thursday during the season, and he often put together some of the critiques of Miles to share with his teammates.
