Imoral Paterno? Scandal?

Paterno of Big Ten Penn State is so involved in this child molestation crime. Jerry Sandusky sexually abused boys.
What did Paterno know and when did he know it and what did he do? Apparently he knew a long time and did nothing. No one did a thing actually.
Sandusky needs to be in jail for life.
Paterno needs to be let go ASAP. How immoral is he.
When I heard this, I thought was it boys or young men (college students) which are grown adults. Hey, with consenting adults, whatever is legal.
The report is on Headline news, I am watching now, and this freak, Sandusky, was with boys. Kids. Children. BOYS in their pre-teens/teens.

Judge slowly.

There are many facts and contexts of which we are not aware. We should not be indiscriminate with our accusations or innuendos, as clearly, much is on the line for many. It is more important for the entire truth to be told in its time than any personal need to satisfy an immediate voyeuristic thrill.

Not much to see..Joe .Pa let it slide and its time to step down..

Paterno to retire at end of season - College Football - Rivals.com

"critics say the coach should have done more—tried to identify and help the victim, for example, or alerted authorities."

THIS!

It is sad to these coaches that people regarded as strong moral leaders going out like this. Last year Tressel, this year Paterno.

SmashMouth 11-09-2011 09:45 PM

Well... He just got fired... Sad ending! Sadder story for the kids.

RaginCajun83 11-09-2011 09:55 PM

Wow thought I'd see him die on the sideline not get fired due to the cover up of some sicko. Should of went to the cops and he would still be the coach

Halo 11-09-2011 10:15 PM

It's time for Jo Pa to retire. Regardless of his age, his crime is not following through with the results of the 2002 investigation. That locker room belongs to him.

Joe could have easily picked up the phone and called the cops. If he was fired for doing it he would have been a hero and I'm sure a smaller university would have had him coach for years so he could have whatever career longevity he wanted.

This is the first claim of pedophilia I've seen in recent times that doesn't involve the Catholic Church, and I think in fairness, the university should be nailed to the wall pending the results of the trial and investigation. We hold the religious to a higher standard (rightfully so) and the secular community should be held to the same standard.

Jo Pa is doing the right thing by retiring.
This is the strangest scandal I've seen in football ever.
Is Jo Pa's legacy tainted?

Yes somewhat.

How do you fire the guy over the phone after 61 years of serving your university?

Or look the other way when you have a child molester hanging around your university. Joe should have retired immediatly. He tried to call his shot and retire on his terms when he knew he was under fire. The better question is why didn't he retire immediatly? He knew he was going to get hammered with question every day about this situation and it wasn't going to go away and every day he stuck around it was a black cloud over the team. Now the university can try and move on now that everyone involved in this scandal has been shown the door.

strato 11-10-2011 08:18 AM

And quit having Jo Pa.. ped ..i mean pep rallies...people...makes the whole university look sick

They are educated fools.
These students are highly educated fools.
The police should have asked the protestors to leave.
Next, hose'em.
Next, tear gas.

Easy.
Just do it.
It comes down to 1) the university and Paterno being busted so 2) you start doing everything and anything to save the university.
