Best in the West

12-0 Tigers win division, head to SEC title game

No. 1 LSU accomplished everything on its lengthy Black Friday shopping list.

Get a victory against No. 3 Arkansas and complete the first 12-0 regular season in Tigers history. Check.

Get to 8-0 in the Southeastern Conference West Division and win the outright title in the most competitive collection of teams in the country. Check.

Get a trip to Atlanta to play No. 13 and East Division champion Georgia in the SEC Championship Game next Saturday. Check.

Get within one win of a berth in the BCS national championship game Jan. 9 in New Orleans, and perhaps do enough to wrap up that berth a week early. Check and check.

“There will be a time when I’ll look back and relish in these victories and all the fun we’ve had,” LSU guard Will Blackwell said, “but we’ve got to stay on track and focus on Georgia. Our No. 1 goal has been to win the SEC and hang that banner. We’ve got a great opportunity to do that now.”

LSU SHOULD NOT have to worry about winning the SEC title game with 1 loss Alabama, who lost to LSU at home, sits at home and does NOT win their division, does NOT got the SEC title game... sits at home with a bye week waiting to play the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

I'll be more than happy to see Bama come to the Dome and try their very best to beat LSU practically at home for the National Title. Just saying, it's not fair to the rest of college football.

Whats fair is the two best teams in college football playing for the title, regardless of the fact that it may be a rematch. Bama could have easily won that game, its not like LSU kicked their ass. Bama missed 4 freaking FG's, had a controversial pick at the 1 foot line, and lost in OT.

There's no doubt LSU and Alabama are the two best teams in college football. They SHOULD play for the championship. If we had a playoff system and the two best teams advanced, we'd be looking at Bama/LSU anyway.

Bama should have won... bad coaching. While I do feel Bama is the second best team in the nation, if Okie State beats Oklahoma, they can make a very compelling argument to leap Bama into the NCG against LSU.

"Anyone who doesn't win their conference has no business playing in the national championship game."

-Nick Saban

If we play Bama in the Superdome, I have the utmost confidence we'll take Bama by 6 or more. LSU shows up big time in bowl games... especially on our home turf. I honestly don't care who we play. I'd love to see our first stringers against our second stringers in all honesty... I think that would be a hell of a game.

If Bama gets in that will show all thats wrong with college FB..they had their chance at home and lost...guess special teams are pretty important..

OKC.... Stanford or Houston who is undefeated... should get a shot at the Tigers..

Saban misspoke...
What he really meant to say was, "Anybody who doesn't play in their conference championship shouldn't play in the national championship."

Tell that to the 2006 Wolverines. *shrug* 2007 BCS National Championship Game - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
