Lawanda Ann Alford Mom of Southern Miss QB Arrested For Altercation With Fans
 

Things couldn't have gone worse for Southern Miss freshman quarterback Anthony Alford during last Saturday's 45-17 loss to Marshall.

He completed just 9 of 21 passes for 65 yards, was sacked three times and had to leave the game in the third quarter after an ankle injury. Oh, and his mother was arrested for defending her son from all the haters in the crowd.

Lawanda Ann Alford, 38, was arrested by Hattiesburg Police and booked on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
According to the Hattiesburg American, police ordered her from the stands after she got into a loud argument with a fan who was talking smack about her son's play.

It's a wonder she didn't start hitting him with her purse and start yelling at the guy not to talk about her baby like that.

That is where I went to college. I have only been disgusted with the University, twice. The 1st time was the way they did Jeff Bower. The 2nd, is this season. A 19 year winning season has come to an end and from being CUSA Champions last year to more than likely, a winless season.

It's just a disgusting season.

Well, he's only a freshman and has time to work on his game, ankle injuries heal and hopefully anger-management helps his Mom with her issues ... sorry about your alma-mater, Sapper, they did have a great season last year.

Football is not his best sport. He is a baseball player. A future MLB player for the Mets I think.

He plays football just for the fun of competition. He is an awesome baseball player.

USM fans we're always fun to have in town when y'all used to play the Tide regularly, a real fun crowd to tailgate with. Of course, I never ran into Mrs. Lawanda Ann Alford!

So she got into an altercation with some fans insulting her son in MISS. Again, I say MISSISSIPPI. Who knows what she was subjected to and set her off? Id rather have a mom like that than a Snooki....
