It happened near Southern University a little after midnight... Absolutely heartbreaking news. A young man cut down for no good reason. My heart and prayers go out to all of his family, friends and teammates.

He'd worked hard at improving his game over the last couple of years, and I'd heard a lot of positives about how much progress he'd made this off season. I was excited to see what he could do this year, as I'm a sucker for underdog stories.

But more than that, he was apparently a very beloved individual among all those who knew him. I don't know the details of what happened last night that lead to this, but there is never a good reason to kill someone who isn't threatening you, which, from what it seems thus far, Sims was not doing.
