I came to know of Mr. Harwell's great broadcasting talent through the APBA Baseball for Windows games. Most video game announcers get old quick ... his voice made the game a treasure and never, ever got old - even when you know what line was coming next. Also heard him call a few games on the radio later in the 90's. Like Chick Hearn, listening to him was transcendent and in some way purer that actually watching the game. What a legendary voice.
