I'm just glad that George acted like he was trying I guess.

You know, all the George Bush versus Obama stuff is just silly.

I thought it quite classy of Obama to bring up Bush last night in his announcement. In many ways I feel sorry for Obama (and those that know me know I am NO WHERE NEAR a supporter of his) because he, very much like Jimmy Carter can't get any real help from either side - from the dems or the repubs.

As for bin laden, hell can't be hot enough. Of course this will make security far more precious over the coming months, but that is to be expected. I love that even after nearly 10 years we aced his ass, and I love that it was the Navy Seals that did it. Those men are not to be ****** with. I know a couple, and you can bet there won't be any interviews with the guy that scored the shot. That just isn't their style.

Obama said something last night I hope we can all absorb. He mentioned the togetherness we all felt in the days after 9/11. We were a unified country then, more so than we had been in a VERY long time, perhaps going back as far as Pearl Harbor. He encouraged us to remember that and to try to get back to it. It was precisely the right thing to say. Rather than pumping his fist he asked us to use the news to link ourselves together again as Americans. I so wish we all would. We have so many issues here beyond terrorism that the nature of politics prevents us from solving gracefully if at all. We need to rally around our Country again like we did 10 years ago.

Finally, this is just cause to celebrate, even if the war on terror is far from over. I hope those who lost friends and relatives at the hand of this evil bastard can feel some sense of closure, and I hope the rest of the world gets the message: No matter how far away - No matter how long it takes - No matter the obstacles placed before us - The United States of America will see that justice is done on behalf of its citizens, whether they be black, white, Asian, Mexican, or Irish - whether they worship as Muslims, Christians or otherwise does not matter. The vision is that we are all AMERICANS before we are anything else, and we protect and defend our own.

For all his election rhetoric about pulling out of Iraq and closing down the terror prisons, Obama kept his eye on the target. God bless him for that, and God Bless AMERICA.

OK Strat, you know you're my buddy, But I have to disagree with you. You know that if you can't give GW any credit for finding and killing OBL, with the Patriot Act, the interrigations at Guantanamo Bay, all the policies that made getting the intel and the ability to find OBL, then you can't blame GW for the economy, the price of gas, the unemployment, etc. I'm not defending GW, because I feel he was not a very good President, but you can't pick and choose who and what you want to blame and give credit to. You have to give credit where credit is due. We found OBL because of policies that GW put in place. These are the same policies BOB promised to discontinue in his election campaign. The CIA found OBL, the Navy killed OBL. Obama gave the OK. It would have political suicide for him not to say OK.

Um... who really knows what exactly happened, anyway? Let's not assume it was execution OR refusal to surrender.

Yes Papz, there will continue to be fallout but I feel that our global intelligence network is stronger than ever (ex; the growing list of recently foiled plots).

Yes Strat, Bush's name belongs in the conversation just as does ALL those who lost their lives, loved ones and jobs bc of OBL.

Above all - I just want our men & women back in the US.

I will never give Bush any credit for anything positive. His policies and his war in Iraq has bankrupted our nation and sent thousands of brave, heroic men and women in our armed forces to their deaths. 9/11 happened on Bush's watch. Should he blamed for that? No. Of course not. Bin Laden is dead due to the efforts of many. It happened during Obama's presidency. Should he recieve credit? Yes. He gave the order. The Seals and the CIA are the ones who truly deserve all the praise for their heroic efforts and months of work.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney on Tuesday publicly revised the administration’s account of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, telling reporters that the Al Qaeda leader wasn’t armed during the assault and didn’t use one of his wives as a shield.

On Monday evening, the White House had backed away from key details in its narrative about the raid, including claims by senior U.S. officials that bin Laden had a weapon and may have fired it during a gun battle with U.S. forces.

Officials also retreated from claims that one of bin Laden’s wives was killed in the raid.

Carney read a statement to reporters Tuesday seeking to clarify discrepancies. He said bin Laden “was not armed.” When a U.S. “assaulter” approached bin Laden, the Al Qaeda leader’s “wife” rushed the assaulter. That woman was shot but not killed, Carney said.

Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And three of the SEALs who captured him are now facing criminal charges, sources told FoxNews.com.

The three, all members of the Navy's elite commando unit, have refused non-judicial punishment — called a captain's mast — and have requested a trial by court-martial.

Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named "Objective Amber," told investigators he was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it.

Dude some bad **** went down in Falljah. I know a couple of Marines that did two tours there. Suffice it to say, "war is hell", and while our troops must and typically do hold themselves to a higher standard, even in wartime, sometimes you have to do...what you have to do.

I give all the props for Obama as it should be.... and of course all of the props for continuing and following the Bush policies that enabled this wondrous day!
