Border security is a federal, national security issue. It is not the job of the states to secure our national borders. Since the federal government has completly failed at that, the sates have taken the law into their own hands and are passing laws trying to take away the incentives that lure ILLEGAL aliens to their states. The only reason Obama is deporting any illegal aliens, is under pressure from the public. And the only reason he's deported more than any other President, is because there are sooo many more here now than there used to be. But I bet if you look, percentage wise, he's probably deporting a smaller percentage of illegal aliens than any other President. No facts on that, just a hunch. If it were entirely up to Obama, he would keep them all here, make them all voting citizens of the United States, and give them all welfare, food stamps, free housing, free healthcare, free childcare, etc. etc. etc. etc. Stuff that you and I, as LEGAL citizins, are paying for with our taxes. You have to remember, these people, as soon as they climb over that fence, they are criminals. It is illegal to enter this country without the proper documentation, visas, work permits, student visas, etc. Hence the name Illegal Aliens. They are not undocumented workers. They are illegal aliens, and they, according to our FEDERAL laws, are criminals. Period.

The only reason why he would not deport immigrants is to hopefully indoctrinate them, become their hero and have their votes. No path was established to citizenship so now he has less use for them.

Don't think that's exclusively a liberal/Obama idea, Republicans also have political uses for the immigrant masses. Just saying, hypocrisy abound on both sides the aisle. But Obama is in power now and immigration is a card he has delt, or hidden, thus far.

As far as local laws on immigration, YES the federal government has failed to do it's job. They do an OVER THE TOP job nowadays with the largest IRS operation in history, but can't address the borders. FAIL.

Maybe 40 years ago...but today no one will do the work they do...and for the pay they receive..

That's not true Strato. That's like saying stop bailing, the ship is going to sink anyway - it's a total give up stance. This idea that American can't run without illegal Mexican workers is a crap agenda promoted by the people who want to get that vote on election day.

The fact is we don't need new laws. What some of the States are doing they are doing because the Federal Government won't enforce the laws already in place.

America doesn't need illegal labor to survive, but it does need an honest politician or two...or three.

Anything exciting going on in Arizona after they passed their law? Haven't seen or hear a peep from all those people screaming how unjust things were going to be. Oh, people were warned not to go to Arizona because they might be unfairly harassed. Awfully quiet on that front these days.
