Another shooting in Colorado

Haven't seen sth about this in the forum. Another shooting!

http://m.news-gazette.com/news/court...-townhome.html

Guns shall not be available legally! I think the US should change that law! There are crazy people out there all over te world. But if guns are not available legally, not so many people get killed in massacres. Sure, people get killed all over the world. But if the guy from Newton had not been able to get that gun, the kids would still be alive. Also, the kind of guns you can buy, machine guns, is a bad thing. But I am thinking that the weapons lobby is so big that it is impossible for the President to stop it

How old are you? Is this post a joke? Is it sarcasm? And you're from Germany?

If you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns.

I am 37 and this post is not a joke. I am from Germany. Sure, criminals buy guns from illegal sources. But the example in Newton, it was a young guy. If there had not been guns in the house, he would not have the chance to shoot somebody

Wow, just wow. I don't know how to answer that without insulting you.

Wilde18 01-06-2013 12:24 PM

How can you insult me? We are just discussing the subject. ;)

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

I work for the US military on Ramstein Air Base. Also, I spend my vacation in the States every year. Both since 10 years now. So I am pretty much familiar with the American mentality, the laws and the American way of life. For that reason I do not blame any American about how you think about weapons. Just tried to make you think about that point of view from other countries.

We a free country, too. I feel pretty safe because not everybody carries a gun.

With all due respect, if you're looking at gun control in America through the filter of Newtown, then you know next to nothing about the American way of life.

Per Capita, you're more likely to be murdered in Germany than you are in the United States. ;-)

I just tool Newton as an example, because i just happened. During the last decades, there was only ine shootout in a German school. I do not say people are better here, by far not! It is just hard to buy a gun and kill so many people at once.

What makes you think it is easier to get killed in Germany?

In the early 1900's the US gvmt. banned alcohol and effectively created the Mafia. Later that century the government declared war on drugs, spent 100's of billions of dollars and created the major drug cartels. Since the start of the war on drugs the percentage of the population addicted to drugs remains unchanged.

So, if we ban guns it is all but guaranteed that the result will be the creation of a black market gun cartel. The bad guys "will" have guns and the average citizen won't be able to protect themselves. Note, it is illegal to bear arms in Mexico. Has it stopped the killing?

Our mentality? I lived in Babenhausen for 3 years, i was there when the wall cane down. Let's talk about the Turks in Germany, or nearly getting stabbed in the face in a subway in Darmstadt. Germany is full of gangs, more so than I have seen in Houston.

Here is a wake up for you, Americans all have a different mentality and way of life.....

"American mentality" huh? Say it.... Call us John Wayne or Clint Eastwood just once for me. That way I can call you a Nazi and we can cut right through all the ignorant stereo typing.

You actually think that because you work on an American AF Base and vacation in America you know all of us? You are extremely myopic.

How many people get pushed in front of trains? Stabbed in subways?

I'll keep my guns. You have more than double the crime rate.
Our crime rate is 0.0380
Germans crime rate is 0.0803

You beat me to it, but thanks. The liberals spin machine is running wide open. All it takes is 2 minutes of research on the internet to debunk 99% of that crap.
