The Walking Dead thread RESURRECTED!

Spoiler alert, do not read on if your not up to date with the episodes and want to watch them

Now how does everyone feel about the last two episodes, the first one i kinda felt let down - not a whole lot of action in it but i loved the fact that rick is seeing lori's ghost

Second episode - wow! I've never been happier to see merle turn up than when he saved rick, my serious belief was that rick was a goner when he got surrounded

Daryl is still the beast he's always been, including an exceptional kill by using what? ........thats right.........a cars boot as a method of decapitation

What does everyone believe will happen?
Can you see something subtle many of us havent noticed? Or that i havent noticed?

Glenn is trying his best to fill in for rick but he isn't a leader, carl is turning more cold blooded with each episode and i love how they have developed his character

Everyone share your thoughts please!!

Re: The Walking Dead thread RESURRECTED!

If I were an "outsider" reading what I was typing I would make fun of me.

The second episode had me hollering at the t.v.!

Things I picked up on:

Daryls tattoo's mean something! They also struck a cord with Merle, who almost changed his attitude as soon as he saw them.

Merle is not really a "Bad" guy. He and Daryl are cut from the same cloth. He realized what he has done to the people of "Camp Rick" and I think there is a lot of regret waiting to cry out of Merle.

My hope is Merle changes and Camp Rick has two ass kickers! Make no mistake; Merle can kick some serious ass.

Thank the Lord Rick has woke up from crazytown. Shame it took bullets flying at him to do it. In Rick's re-awakening; he woke up pissed!

The Governor is a brilliant/crazy tactician. For him to crash through the gate and deliver the walkers to Camp Rick's front door is nothing more than brutal.

Glenn started the season out as a bad ass but after the attack I think he just realized he ain't "The Man". ( I could be wrong in this)

Hooray for Carol! Daryl is back!!!!

Did I mention that everything is gonna be okay because Daryl is back? I did? Oh, ok. Anyway, Great 2nd part to the season. Hated to see the last convict get killed.

What in the hell happened to the other 4 people?!?!?!?!?!

Are they with the Nubian Warrior Nija Master in the bus or what?!?!?

Re: The Walking Dead thread RESURRECTED!

Okay, posted this in the original thread before I saw this one:

Just caught up on the last episode. Curious to see what the group does now. They know the governor is not going to leave them alone. So, they have to do something. I think they take Darryl and Merle back because they need the people.

Looks like Andrea is figuring out what the governor is all about. Maybe she helps the group when they attack.

Re: The Walking Dead thread RESURRECTED!

Ok. Since nobody has talked about the 3rd episode yet. I will.

Well, we finally find out what happened to the 4 people Rick freaked out of the prison. I find this a very interesting twist to the story. Now that they are with the WestBerry group now. They can feed the Phil info on how to get into the prison. However, I think the black couple will reget it.

Is Merle turning over a new leaf??? It sure does seem like it. I think we are going to see Merle become invaluable to the group.

Good episode can't wait til Sunday.

Yeah totally agree SS
I found myself starting to like merle more and more as the episodes go by, whereas I couldnt stand him a while ago, ever since he saw the scars on Daryl's back he's changed.
Yeah Tyreese and his wife will regret going with the governor, Andrea is a wuss!! I wanted her to kill the governor in his sleep, but then again that would end the season pretty much lol

A friend at work said something to me that really made me think, Maybe they are making you like Merle all of a sudden so they can kill him off? Which has some real merit to it, people wouldnt have cared if merle died 3 episodes ago, now we are starting to like him

I loved how when andrea came to the prison, Rick didnt mess around - threw he straight to the floor and pointed the gun in her face!

The next episode with Michonne, Carl and Rick looks incredible, Michonne and Carl get trapped by a crap load of walkers!!

DON'T TRUST MERLE ... and that's all I have to say about that,.

Re: The Walking Dead thread RESURRECTED!

It wasn't Daryl's tattoo that got Merle it was the scars.

I'd be really disappointed if Merle suddenly becomes a good guy. That would just be too much. He's such a POS! Now a little scolding from little bro and he's suddenly a new man?

Good to see Herschel exercising his influence, Rick needs all the help he can get. Glenn sure isn't helping things. Hope he doesn't get himself killed.

What do y'all think about the way they're handling Michonne's character? The whole "I'm going to stare you death and not say anything." routine is getting a little old. I do notice though that Rick had no trouble picking her to go with Carl and him. Guess he's decided to let her become part of the group.

Can't wait to see what happens.

Re: The Walking Dead thread RESURRECTED!

I think the writers are keeping Michonne around to kill either Merle or the Governor at some point. She's like the aloof gunfighter in the old spaghetti westerns that the villagers find wounded out in the desert, is nursed backed to health & then saves the village from the bad guys ... yeah, that's the ticket,.

Who were those two walkers she had on the chains when she was first introduced anyway? I remember her saying she had known them before they were walkers, but I don't remember ever finding out how she knew them. Anyone?

I think andrea asked if they were family and michonne looked away so they may have been her brothers or something

Re: The Walking Dead thread RESURRECTED!

Yeah Bou. The first time I saw the Scar/tattoo episode my daughter walked in front of the TV and all I saw was the tattoo's. I rewatched it and noticed the scars. I think Merle seeing the scars on Daryl is what changed him and not the tounge lashing from little brother.

I think Merle left when they were kids because he was getting the brunt force of their fathers anger and did not know Daryl picked up the slack when he left.

I am also getting a little tired of the silent treatment from Michonne. TALK DAMN YOU!

I feel sure they are going to show the history of Michonne at some point. as well as the winter that she and Andrea were together. Michonne and Andrea developed a strong bond during that time and we, the veiwers need to know what happened. So, I feel sure we will see her tale.

I don't see Merle becoming this "Saint" in just a matter of weeks. You can take a white trash boy out of the trailer and throw him into the zombie apocolypes, but you can't talk the white trash outta the boy. For all the good that Daryl has done and how he has changed he is still an ole white trash boy.

Finally caught up with episode 3. Kind of surprised no on died.

Agree with Dizzle, thought for a second the governor would die, but, then realized there would be no point to the rest of the season.

They are definitely gonna have to leave the prison though.

I'm kinda hoping Milton will be the one to kill the Governor

Re: The Walking Dead thread RESURRECTED!

** Spoiler Alert **

Well, after last nights episode, it would appear the Governor once again has the situation well-in-hand with a serious date-night planned for Andrea, then Michonne. Milton inadvertently tips off the Gov. that he was the one who set fire to the biter-pit, I expect him to become a casualty in the near future, but in a heroic/martyr sort of way.

'Battle of the BadAsses' is shaping up between Darryl & Martinez as they moved from an open dislike for each other to begrudging respect between the two.

Tyrese & his crew were featured more prominently in the plot and undoubtedly will be more involved in the future, just how? Merle & Michonne are still the wild-cards, thought for a moment Merle was trying to lure Michonne to the Rick/Gov. mtg as an undercover agent for Woodbury setting her up for capture.

Still a lot of ground to cover with only two episodes left this season ...

Re: The Walking Dead thread RESURRECTED!

Merle has done too much damage to end up being a long term character at this point. I think he will end up saving someone as a final showing of goodness, not sure who yet. Andrea may be the next main character to go from the original group in her current delimma. I think Rick kills the Governor, payback is a *****.

I thought the exact same thing slo, when the governor said he wants michonne, then all of sudden Merle is asking michonne if she wants to go with him to kill the governor, very suspicious behaviour from merle

I thought the governor was a goner when andrea set the walkers loose, I think milton maybe the guy that kills the governor when he least expects it

I dont know what to think about tyreese, i want him to turn against the governor but now hes apologizing to him for mouthing off

Last two episodes should be good

So reasonable, I think it'll be somebody else.

Yeah, it was too easy to pick up when Milton mentioned the fire to the Governor before it's public knowledge ... that leaves Martinez or some unidentified new character they'll be bringing into the storyline .... hmmm.

Ok, I can see now that it's not entirely unbelievable ... remember when Martinez & Darryl had their little 'bonding' moment after crushing a few biter/walker skulls at the Rick/Governor meeting? It gave us one of the great exchanges & classic movie quote of the series:

Darryl: (picking cigarettes from dead walker's shirt pocket) "Hey, smokes ... want one?"
Martinez: "Nah, I prefer menthols"
Darryl: "pu**y"

... so now Darryl & Martinez have this grudging respect for each other, knowing they're both cut from the same cloth, just on different sides. Martinez could very well be feeling that a fellow warrior, such as Darryl, does not deserve 'death-by-walkers' & very well set the flame ... yeah, that's the ticket,.

I don't see Martinez as the one who burned the pit walkers. I do think he sees Darryl and possibly the other group in a different light now. Just like Milton bonded with the Hershel. The people at the prison and in Woodbuy are the same, they want the same things. To survive and find some sense of civilization again. It's their leaders that are questionable, and yes, I mean Rick too.

I wouldn't be surprised to see one of the Governor's own people take him out.

Episode 15

Wow.....just wow...... i did not see that coming at all and daryls performance at the very end was incredible

Makes you wonder if that was merles plan all along or if michonnes words got to him and he changed his mind?
But man......the merle being a walker scene was the most shocking scene since sophia being a walker in season 2

Started to like merle near to the end, whats daryl going to do now? Go insane possibly?

I can officially get in on any Walking Dead discussion now. I've been off work for the last few days and have had nothing to d6 so, so take a guess what I did? Yep. I watched every episode from Season 1, Episode 1 to the current episode where Merle turns. Started it Saturday night at 6 pm and just finished it off at 2 pm today. I would catch myself starting to feel like dozing off and then...BAM! Another cliffhanger ending that just led me on to the next episode. I don't know why I held out on watching this show for so long, but it is safe to say that I'm a fellow Dead Head now. Almost literally. My brain is mush from watching it so much the last few days. I absorbed so much information from the show, when I did sleep last night, I actually dreamed I was in the show. No walkers, just cast members. I need to take the rest of the day just to recharge my brain in another direction. :p

I think Milton kills the Governor while rescuing Andrea. He'll probably die in the process though.

I wonder if any of our originals are going to bite it in the finale.

That's a tough one, but I would use one of the Governor's own techniques against him. I would make sure everyone was inside the last closeable gate to the prison (my exception to this is a little further in) and draw in as many walkers as possible into the open area past the entrance. As was mentioned in one episode "The enemy of my enemy is my friend". That would slow down any possible infiltration into the main areas of the prison and possibly take out some of their numbers. I would probably use Daryl and Mishon outside the prison gates since their weapons are best suited for stealth mode. They could sneak up behind some of the foot soldiers and take them out methodically, securing more weapons. This is all depending on what type of arsenal the Governor's army has, though. We already know they are well equipped. I would not have anyone in the towers, because it was obvious from the preview of the season finale that one is taken out. I would have snipers in locations that probably wouldn't be near as obvious. Rick, Glen, Carl, Carol and Maggie as the front line with Hershel and Beth closely guarding Judith. Obviously, Hershel doesn't need to be put into a situation where he needs to do any running. :p After seeing the unknown arsonist set fire to the walker pits, there is going to be a swerve from either the obvious (Milton, Tyrese, Sasha, or Andrea) or the completely unexpected (Caesar or Karen (the mother of the boy who has asthma). Not sure why I'm thinking her, but she doesn't seem too happy about the situation in Woodbury right now after her son was "recruited". I actually wouldn't be surprised if there were multiple characters that turn on the Governor. It all depends on who these characters are and how they turn the tide in favor of Rick and Co.

EDIT: I think there is also an outside shot that it is Morgan that burned the pits since he was burning all the walkers whenever Rick, Carl and Mishon were leaving town. Plus, he has the rest of the arsenal that would probably be needed to help defeat the Gubnah.

If I had to guess at any of the group of originals, it would be Glen, Andrea or Carol. Glen because it would put an emotional end to the love story between him and Maggie. Carol would be my second guess, because, besides Beth, she is more of the weak link of the group and I just don't see Rick, Daryl, or Carl going down. That would probably put a huge hit on the ratings. Andrea is a big possibility, because that girl has escaped death either from "opting out", explosions, and fleeing from walkers at the farm. Her luck is eventually going to run out. I don't see her dying in captivity, but I could see her going down in a hero's effort to save the people from the original group.

As far as Hershel and his family, if any of them, I think it will be Hershel.

My prediction is that they either lose only Hershel or it will be Hershel and one original.

Re: The Walking Dead thread RESURRECTED!

I think they should take over Woodbury after a shock the world move on the Governor. Get Milton to sneak up on the Governor like that dude in the shades did to Scarface. I think that would be epic.

Im guessing Martinez is a soldier drone, and he'd bow down to the new leader after he tries to make a move yet fails. He'll, I'd rather talk strategy over the campfire with Michonne than crazy ass Rick right about now. Whip out your maps, hunni...

I wouldn't kill off Andrea or Michonne. Andrea is the only recognizable face to me. I saw her on the Mist long ago. I remember saying she could be like Naomi Watts, cept for that perpetually pissed Zellweger kinda face. The rest are unknowns, or imported from England. Maggie is hotter than portrayed on the show

Michonne is fully capable of running Woodbury. I can see her sentencing fools who would break a deal to spin the wheel, like the Thunderdome

I don't even care if Rick dies. I think his son should go on to makes moves and eventually spread his seed to bring hope to their post apocalyptic world. Hell, maybe he'll figure out how to mount a zombie.

Can't we all get along?

Wilde18 03-27-2013 04:18 AM

Talking about Merle I do not think he changed! He only found out that his escape from hone made nothing good for Daryl abd his little bro has the same sorry childhood than he did. So Daryl is all and everybody he cares about. He might have learned from Daryl that at times you have to stick to other people. So in my opinion his only change was about him and his bro, not mor not less
