I haven't watched any of the Oscars highlights, but when I saw that McFarlane was hired to host the Oscars I knew that they were going for shock value. When you have a guy who hosts Comedy Central roasts (which are real raunchy) and hand him the reigns to the Oscars, you get what you get.
BTW I haven't watched any of the Oscars highlights at all, even now. I would rather watch movies when I get the time then to watch Hollywood masturbate all over itself. |

I don't watch awards shows. But I wouldn't want to listen to MacFarlane's mindless crap anyway. His cartoons can be funny, even very funny at times, but then he ruins it with some stupid political joke that makes absolutely no sense. The guy doesn't know the first thing about what he's talking about, but he fancies himself some sort of activist, apparently. I don't like politics in my entertainment.
