Just bought a new laptop, need help!!!

You may want to consider staying away from software that doesn't come with a receipt in the future. Especially if it will be on a PC that you either run a business on or handle your finances on. Gone are the days when there was honor amongst thieves and unless the serial, serial generator, and or the package comes from a trusted source you could be opening your self up to a world of hurt.
That said Microsoft office products generally require frequent security updates to address vulnerabilities. Something that is not always easy to do because of the validation requirements. Rule of thumb I share with friends, if you don't know what to do with the .info file.... Best leave it to someone that does. All of this is according to a conversation I overheard at Whataburger of course.
