Brett Favre on state prep football title: ‘I can’t say it’s like a Super Bowl, but it’s pretty close’
 

NFL legend Brett Favre is a champion again, and he says that it feels almost as good as winning the Super Bowl.

Interviewed after the Oak Grove (Miss.) High football team won the first state title in school history, the team’s offensive coordinator said the Warriors’ Class 6A crown was almost as satisfying an accomplishment as the Super Bowl XXXI title he won while playing quarterback for Green Bay.

"I can't say it's like a Super Bowl, but it's pretty close," Favre, sporting a Grizzly Adams-style playoff beard, told the Associated Press. "It really is. It's a different type of feeling, but I couldn't be more proud of these guys."

We had a really nice high school football weekend where I live in OH. The local high school my granddaughter attends won the Ohio D-II state championship. On top of that the Catholic high school my sons attended, which is about 5 miles from home, repeated as the Ohio D-I state champs. Then for good measure a small farm-country high school that is about 10 miles away repeated as the D-IV state champs.

There is some serious high school talent concentrated in SW Ohio.

Nice to see Farve providing some positive influence. Good for him and good for the kids involved.
Wonder if he has ever had the "no sexting" pep talk with his players?
