Change US Timezones?

I like it. I like it a lot.

The CNN 10: Ideas

"There's a way to end seasonal clock confusion and eliminate jet lag.
All it would take is doing away with daylight saving and splitting the continental United States in two time zones: East and West, an hour apart."

1. Jet lag going across the US is not a problem. Jet lag is an issue with international travel
2. In the US, everything comes back to money. Could Wall St. and the television networks make this adjustment?

Nope.
It would not work.
It would hurt FedEx and UPS.

I go one step further ... don't even mess with the time. Leave it at summer daylight savings time. By the time they change it in November, it's practically time for the days to begin getting longer.

On another note, maybe we should divide the day into 26 hours like it is in Bajor.

Bad idea. Sunrise in northern Maine occurs two hours earlier than in northern Minnesota this time of year. Same goes for sunset. So, people will be spending more of their work/school day in the dark. Not really good for safety and productivity.

I vote for getting rid of daylight savings, no doubt.
