Marquez said he believes the attack was racially motivated. He remembers being accosted at the McDonald's in Washington's Chinatown neighborhood by five people between 16 and 21 years old. Most were men or boys. One may have been female.

“The kids were asking me if I think that black lives mattered,” Marquez said on Monday. “I was ignoring them, just because I felt intimidated. I felt how they approached me, it was very hostile. I felt they were really trying to intimidate me and just trying to start a confrontation with me.”

I haven't, and don't expect to, hear any repudiation from the BLM group for these attacks.

Of course they will claim they aren't part of their group when called on it, but won't condemn them until someone asks if they represent their views.

Come on, man ... and you won't because BLM is a movement about violence towards black people, by law enforcement officers, police brutality, racial profiling and inequality in the justice system, yada, yada, yada ... don't you know that? They're not concerned with personal responsibility and/or the conduct of the little miscreants they urge to action, :rolleyes: ... much like the rap idiots. They gotta' catch someone in this case too, until then ... #crickets.

I'm a little disappointed in this guy (Marques) though ... stupid jarhead to stupid jarhead. Nobody in their right mind sits in an urban fast food restaurant at 10:30pm and expects not to be f'ed with, #smh. I don't even think the fast food lobbies are open after 10pm around my house, if that late. While I admire his service, if the Corps didn't teach him to be aware of his surroundings and not to show his back to a potential threat, then he must be a stupid country boy in the big city or something like that, #shrug. Same time I read this story in the news, this one popped up near me (Feb 12), and it's not a singular event, but a frequent occurrence at party stores, gas stations, parking lots and the like ... the security cams just happened to be working for this one, a rare occurrence, :neutral:. I was compelled to go out and get a CPL last year if I wanted to continue to patronize my local businesses, for crissake, :rolleyes:.


Yep, just a bunch of oppressed teenagers, being themselves, passionate about assault & battery, robbery & whatever else they got going on ... who knows, maybe there's something cultural going on there as well, eh? But let's shrug it off, because it's not about behavior, #shrug. Fortunately, the "snitches get stitches" mentality around Detroit is subsiding & two of these guys are in custody (I believe).

This stuff is killing me. The school's are warzones, the neighborhoods are playgrounds for the "knock-out game" and such ... there's a whole fricken' subculture out there that people are just too politically correct to acknowledge. Until we do, all's I can say is be aware of your surroundings, carry a concealed weapon and profile, profile, profile! ;)
