Well then I think you said it all... this guy will be harmed by being in New Orleans.
1. Our D staff can't coach themselves our of a wet paper bag. We have one of the most undisiplined D's in the league. You can see that by how many times players our out of position and no adjustments. Man to man and failure to use innovation to make things happen. So by him being in NO will hurt him/his development
2. The lack of good competition... is a huge deal! How can you line up against NFL talent week in and week out when you were playing against glorified High School players week in and week out? Everyone once in awhile there is an exception but I don't know if I would put money or a bet like that.
3. He is the wrong choice for us. Imagine him lined up against a number 1 or two reciever man to man. We get no pressure on the QB so QB has time and eventually WR will get open. Then we wasted a draft pick. Because next year... people will be screaming CB again. We got to build this D and apply pressure that will had flaws.

I love people who use this excuse for drafting another CB... it doesn't hold water. How do you explain a starting CB on a Super Bowl winning team? Yeah he's got a ring for playing CB.
You get the best out of your players but putting others around them to compliment them. YOu get some pass rushers and JD gets a ring maybe 2. Lets see what the Colts did that year when he got the ring you'll see what we are missing. BLITZ!
Re: Tennessee St. CB Rodgers-Cromartie on short list
Come on we have fielded nothing but top notch back ups a defense for the past 2 years. So I am not killing the D staff, just yet. I like the moves they have done this year. So you have to give the DC some credit.
We got a solid DE for the rotation, M&M replacement, MLB and WLB have been upgraded (Granted we gotta see how the injuries heal first).
What more do you want in FA? For one year this is a good year. Now get two solid picks in the draft and we looking at on of the best off seasons in saints history for the defense.
Re: Tennessee St. CB Rodgers-Cromartie on short list
I'm not saying that I want to draft a CB in the first round, but if we do, I would hope we get DRC.

Yes sir, yes ma'am, very respectful. Yea, I know it doesn't matter on the field, but it always impresses me to here a respectful young man.

I don't question the moves... they are good. I'll admit to that. I like the moves so far. But from what I have seen 2 years now defenesively is that coaching of the DC sucks. Game planning, play calling, adjustments... all have sucked.

Agreed...I think he could be a very coachable player. He's got talent & he's coachable. I wouldn't be dissappointed if we got him.

actually what I said holds water way better than your argument "WELL HE PLAYED WELL FOR ANOTHER TEAM IN THE PAST, AND EVEN THOUGH HE HAD DIFFERENT COACHES, DIFFERENT TEAM MATES PLAYING WITH HIM AND HE PLAYED IN A DIFFERENT SCHEME, HIS MINIMAL ROLE THERE THAT WON HIM A SUPERBOWL SURELY IS A SIGN THAT HE IS A GREAT PLAYER LOL!"
I mostly don't even read your posts anymore for these exact reasons.

LOL, you obvious read them a good bit to answer them. Some how you try saying that as if its a personal insult.
Minimum role??? was he not a starting CB??? DId he not get a ring??? So again your argument does NOT hold water. THe major different how he can be a SB corner back to a 7-9... is what??? Come on say it with me now I know you can... its pressuring the QB. There I knew you could do it.

I have to agree with Euph on this one. Jason David won a ring with Indy. Reason: Indy had a hell of a pass rush. Randall Gay won a ring. Reason: Again...great pass rush. Granted...New England had a hell of a team all together. The best example I can think of is Corey Webster in New York. Is Corey Webster a top notch CB? Hell No! He's decent, but nothing spectacular. Webster shined in the playoffs why? The Giants had a gruesome front four who gave opposing QBs absolutely no time to sit back. We have not had a formidable pass rush in years & the main reson being the middle. Grant & Smith could wreak havoc if they are not being doubled every play. Get a legitimate DT who requires attention, & you get that pass rush.

Drafting a DB in R1 seems like a bigger risk than drafting some other positions in R1; but if the Saints forturnes are turning (Bush, Colston, Evans) than DRC may be the ticket...yeah, that's a nickname, The Ticket...
