Yep! Tonight's the night! Unfortunately, my RedWings start the abbreviated season with something like the first three games on the road. I guess that's Ok, I'm not sure if I'm ready to jump back onboard with both feet anyway ... maybe just kinda' ease my way back in, .
Well, losing Lidstrom, Holstrom, and Stuart was bound to have an effect on the team's performance, but I think they'll improve as the season goes on and Zetterberg earns some respect as the new leader.
On a side note, the local Finnish league game I went to last night was great. The stadium was packed, rival fan groups were singing their songs, and the game went to the penalty shootout. And best of all, my team won, and it was against the league leader.
Been an Avalanche fan since 1996 but hardly follow the team. ESPN doesn't cover hockey very well and the only hockey games shown on tv in my area are on NBC Sunday mornings.
Do the Avs have a chance this year?
The local team here is UAF (University of Alaska Fairbanks.) The Nanooks are on a tear in the CCHA sweeping Northern Michigan, Michigan, and Notre Dame.
