Penguins' Brooks Orpik launches Daniel Paille with massive hit

Oh man, that guy was hit so hard, I'm seeing stars. Wow!

... 'launches' is right, Paille went flying like he stepped on a land mine or something ...

Some Finnish color... GET YOUR HEAD UP, SON!

Some international color as well, but same culprit.

BTW, that was a clean hit and shouldn't have been a penalty... the Latvian guy should've kept his head up and not admire his own puck skills.

And one more for the road - not a big hit, but check out the hang time he gets.

Oh yeah, like the "international" flavour ... 'keep your head up' is right! "Swivel-head, swivel-head" is another one you gotta' remember out there ... here's a nice little compilation of hits, sound track is kinda' edgy ... but how can you not like this sport?

"Daddy's girl" ... here's a hit by my daughter at a tournament in Toronto years back ... the photographer used it as a display picture for several seasons after that, lol!

That's an awesome picture - I bet you were proud of your girl.

My dad used to tell me that he was always the proudest when he heard my name being announced through the PA system after I was headed (once again) to the penalty box after a too aggressive tackle or whatever. Other parents were always overjoyed when their kids got on the score board, but I guess that my lack of scoring ability forced my dad to find other ways to feel proud.

You sure were right about the "edgy soundtrack," but, nevertheless, there were some great hits on that compilation!

Oh no, that wasn't Koslov (Det) Stevens was crunching at 0:54, was it? Ouch! Boy-oh-boy, Stevens sure could lay 'em out ... hey, you know I used to run the clock/penalty box now and again for my daughter's games, and it was always a pleasure to be able to chat with her during a game as she usually wound up there sooner or later ... the ref's would be suprised to see me talking with her and ask, "Is that your daughter?" When I replied, "Yes", they would always say something like, "She hits/fights just like an NHL'er".
