VIDEO: One-on-one with Tampa Bay Lightning sniper Steven Stamkos - The Hockey News
watched this and something bugged me. Yes, it is amazing that these guys are raising awareness for the cause and I'm stoked that it's a Bolt at an event started by a former Bolt but seriously I hate how NHL players talk about safety issues and then go on ice w/o using their straps or utilizing visors. Kind of a mixed message...won't someone think of the children?!
I suck at hockey
btw, I am totally aware that was a run on sentence
I am letting it go bc I have 15 days of summer left before I return to teaching advanced 7th graders the art and beauty of proper grammar. For now, just throw a couple of these ;;;;; in there
Yes, the pro's go bare minimum and too often pay the price. look at Bryan Berard, or Pronger this year. There is being MANLY and there is being stupid, especially when you are talking about a livelihood. Do these guys drive without seatbelts?
Learn to play with a shield and move on. Can you imagine a workplace that had 100mph flying objects, 24 very sharp blades, 12 long sticks and 250 men going 30mph? Call OSHA
Ehh. I've seen this...well, not the strap thing; but older players here do it all the timem when they aren't in an official practice or game, they tend to take their facemasks off. Me personally; I would have the biggest mask/shield I could get. The times I "played" hockey (drop-in sessions with little kids) I wore only my normal baseball cap tho. I suck at hockey
