If I were good enough to play with an actual team (required or not) I would have a helmet and some sort of mask/shield. If I'm not mistaken, you are thinking of NHL shields vs a cage. To that, I agree. But the kind of shield I was thinking of is what most of the Ferris guys have. It is like a cage/shield combo made entirely of clear plastic. You'd know it if you saw it
exactly! pick up game, meh, it's your call. Team or (any form of) Pro then absolutely.
Definitely your call, but you can't be responsible for what the other 11 guys do. A stray stick might end up in a trip to the emergency room.
About 5 years ago I was playing keeper in an over 35 indoor soccer league. I went up to play a high ball and took an elbow to the eye from a teammate. Sure, inadvertent accident from two aggressive players, but I still had to go to work the next day with a black eye.
Luckily I was teaching at a Title one school and it really helped my street cred.
The Red Wings made 'a hell of an offer' for Rick Nash. Columbus wants none of it though. Allegedly, they consider the Wings to be their top rivals and do not want to have to deal with the Nash-Datsyuk combination 6x a year. The Wings have dominated Colombus since they first came into the league.
Most of that is exact words from a news article that I read.
