These stats do not track mom and pop record stores. If it did, the numbers would be far higher.

I sell a lot of vinyl. Tens of thousands of LPs... and not one of the new generation of vinylheads ask me for rap, hip hop or stuff like that. I can't keep Eagles, and many others listed above-- in stock.

Black Keys, White Stripes, Tool, Metallica, and other bands like that sell the within moments of making them available to the public.

Perhaps I'm biased but I ain't orderin' a snoop dog record when i can get a hendrix pressing. Sorry, but not with my budget!
