We went to Lake Charles in 1987 to see them for the Girls, Girls, Girls tour.

Little Side bar : We bought tickets, looked at who was the lead and asked each other.. "who in the phuck is Guns n Roses"?

I remember walking in G&R were playing Paradise City and the Civic Center was only 15% filled.
Just reminded me of when I saw Cinderella/Bon Jovi at the Civic Center in LC. Cinderella rocked. Bon Jovi threw a pep rally. LOL

Yep. And they'll sell too. I don't recall Van Halen being THAT expensive, but if you wanted the best seats and the whole backstage thing it was a bit North of a thousand dollars.

I ended up with great floor seats for the Oakland show on a Tuesday night and then I went back again the following Thursday for the San Jose show. All together I spent about 500 bucks and would do it again without question. In fact I wish I'd spent the grand or so to get backstage, but I'd only do that for a handful of groups/artists - Van Halen, The Eagles, McCartney, Sting, Dylan, just the biggies. There are a few others. The Crue? I like them very much, but not that much...

C'mon Man...
