I often drive the Rock Freeway. As I get to the rolling hills which define Alpine Valley, I remember what we lost. You don't have to know this road to understand the sadness. You just need to know what was lost.

SRV was one of a kind. I was young when he died but had already been listening to him with my older brother. His talent transcended genres. I really think he could have done almost anything musically and it would have been great. It's messed up to say, but if someone had to die I sorta wish it had been Clapton instead. His best music was already behind him, Stevie's best was still ahead of him.

Yep, he was a great entertainer. Not just a typical - one trick pony - blues guitarist. Very skilled, and creative. It really sucks that the best one's seem to be the first to go. Don't wish death on anyone, but it still sucks.

I gotta see the Vaughan brothers a bunch and thank god i did. gone way to early.

Austin blues taxi cram was the first time i saw him way back when. On stage with clapton was unreal in new orleans back in the 70s. muddy waters was the opening act. later they jammed at the blacksmith shop.

River boat jazz fest tickets were to die for

I still have my Wisconsin tickets waiting for him to arrive.

the memories those two brothers have given me. the list goes on and on

I remember that day all to well. All the DJ's on the radio were concerned about Eric Clapton. Never a word about Stevie. I kept asking what about Stevie What about Stevie. Then lighting hit , Oh My God. Stevie Ray, had passed.

To me the day the music died. Stevie Ray, and Albert Collins. Peace be with you.
