Re: The Slow Death of Heavy Metal.

It's not dead, its just not radio friendly so it doesn't get air play. Slipknot put out another record in 2015 and it's still very much alive in other parts of the world. Volbeat is out of Denmark, I like them. Iron Maiden has a huge following in South America too. This article almost reads like those stupid "Drew is done" BS that popped up during the season

Re: The Slow Death of Heavy Metal.

I though this was a good read. There are just so many distractions for both the fans and the musicians these days and that's sad.

The pop music industry, the way it is run nowadays, also deserves a great deal of the blame. In the pockets where they have an artist that has some talent and variety of songs that complement each other, they will turn around and throw those artists under the bus a few years later. Right now they are trying to find a way to bury Katy Perry and Bruno Mars. In a few years it will be Adele and Taylor Swift's turn. There's no sense of legacy anymore unless it's underground, that is what is so messed up.

Re: The Slow Death of Heavy Metal.

It did make some good points but it just sounds like back in the early 1990s when they were proclaiming that metal was dead. Its just not mainstream, closet to it was when Metallica and GnR were on top. If you want that kind of music now, you have to go find it. Sirius has helped me learn of some 'newer" bands and ones I didn't know came from certain eras that I wouldn't of heard if not for a couple of their channels
