In fact, Nicks' agent isn't even expected to begin negotiating a
contract for the 6-foot-5, 345-pound offensive guard until Thursday.
"From what I understand, that is when the Saints
want to start negotiating,'' said Nicks, who played one season at
Hartnell College. "I'm not worried. I'm pretty sure we'll get this deal
done next week.'

Nicks is in Omaha, Neb., working out with a handful of former Nebraska
Cornhusker teammates in preparation for the start of training camp,
getting acclimated to the summer humidity that will likely welcome him
to the Saints training camp.
"I'm out here because it's hot and humid,'' said Nicks, a fifth-round selection by the Saints in April's draft. "It's too cool in Salinas. This is a good transition. I'm trying to get faster and stronger.''
The Saints, who played in the NFC Championship game just two years ago, will open training camp in Jackson, Miss., on July 23.
