Tide star expected to start over Shockley, Hackney

MOBILE - As recently as two or three weeks ago, ESPN's top National Football League draft analyst barely had Alabama quarterback Brodie Croyle on his board.

But after just three days of Senior Bowl Week, Mel Kiper has changed his mind.

I think Croyle is a Tom Brady type QB. He is a good leader. Some people might say that Alabama's offense sputtered last season. But what do you expect playing in a defense minded conference like the SEC. Hell half of the teams in the SEC are NCAA leaders.

Funny, because every time I saw Croyle during the televised practices he looked...inconsistant. I will admit that he played very well this past season though.

Croyle is crap and you can remember I said that. Croyle is the reason why the Bama offense was horrible last year. Check my other post where I put together his career stats at Bama and then tell me he has a chance in hell at even being in the league in 5 years.
It is just crazy to try and compare him to Tom Brady. Brady had a much better college career.

Actually, Croyle is about the only reason Alabama scored any points at all. 59.6% completions, 2,499 yards 15 total tds (1 rushing), and only 4 ints is pretty good for any SEC quarterback.

The only guy on the team that came close to Croyle's td output was fb Tim Castille, who had 7 rushing tds on 128 yards.

And as for Tom Brady, here are the stats for his senior year. 61.02% completions, 2,217 yards, 17 total tds (1 rushing), and 6 ints.

I would say that Brady's and Croyle's stats are pretty similar.

Damn J, never knew you had an opinion. Just joking and I think Croyle is a product of his system. I think he would have performed alot better on a team that was pass oriented.

^Also, he lost his best receiver halfway through the season. I think Croyle will take longer to develope than Leinart and Cutler, but if he is selected by the right team (I suspect Arizona) then he has a good chance to succeed.

wheelman and gfanatic lsu,
check my other thread where i compare their career stats, then you will see that brady was a FAR superior college qb than croyle. you cannot just look at a single year of any player. akili smith had one great year and look how great he is. croyle has not even had one good year let alone one great year.

to make the argument that the qb scored the most TDs on a team is just silly. the qb should score the most TDs. goodness gracious you guys wear me out with your nonsense.
