do you think it is time that the Saints find a new backup QB? Chase Daniel hasn't impressed me while filling in for Brees on the rare occasion and I think its time they find some one else to manage the clipboard. Wheedon is a great QB who because of his will get looked over by a lot of teams. People are saying the Justin Blackmon is the only reason for why Wheedon has looked so good since being named the starter for Oklahoma State. However, After watching Wheedon play the past three weeks he has impressed the hell outta me. I would love to see the Saints maybe pick him up in the 4th or 5th round, you know after we fix that who D-Line/Linebacker issue.

No .... the defense has so many holes in it that it wouldn't make sense to waste a draft pick on a 28 year old rookie at the one spot that the Saints have locked down

Zac Robinson looked really good playing for Okie State too. Just saying.

If they can win out, playing against LSU or Bama in the Championship game will help formulate a better feel for him.

Oh i totally agree with you guys we need LB's bad!!! maybe work on the front line as well. Just saying though chase daniel hasnt impressed me at all and ive seen in a few mock draft people are drafting a QB for the saints

I think we're a year or two early in the drafting a QB talk. We have too many OLine/Defensive needs to worry about drafting a QB...

can we get all of the lb from LSU and Bama?

I love the Bama linebackers ability to stop the run, size, and physicality. That said, because of their size, it makes their speed and ability to cover down field questionable. If they were above average pass rushers, it would help off set that but they're not. I'm very interested to see how they test out this upcoming off season. As far as LSU linebackers, they're under utilized with us always bring extra DB's on the field so it's a little hard to evaluate them. Ryan Baker is probably the only worth that's eligible and going to be drafted.

Daniel has thrown four career passes and is 3 for 4. He hasn't had much of a chance to impress or disappoint you.
I think we can bring in some guys who can make an impact with the team in the middle rounds.

For example:
Jared Crick, Derek Wolfe, Coby Fleener, and Robert Lester

All guys I think could contribute immediately. Wheedon would ride the bench for a few years, at least, and could be replaced before getting a chance to prove himself.

Sorry but if we're talking about Chase Daniel, I don't see him as a QB that can win a Super Bowl. He has the same throwing motion that Romo, Rivers, Young and some other QB's in the league that can do some good stuff but that half ****ed throwing motion never gets them into the upper echelon. I'd love us to go after Matt Flynn but Drew's still in his prime and I don't think Flynn's going to want to wait to start any longer. I just hope we can get another top QB before Drew retires.

Sorry, I don't see the comparison in Daniel's throwing motion compared to the ones you have mentioned... not in the least bit. Two of the three mentioned are second tier quarterbacks... and that's not exactly a bad thing either.
