QB blackballed for criticizing NFL?

Aaron Brooks was the starting quarterback for the Saints in that dreadful season, when everyone's world was turned upside down. He got himself in hot water by complaining that the NFL and the Saints' owner had been lax in helping the team cope with a horrendous natural disaster. At 31, Brooks is still young by quarterback standards, and the handful of general managers I spoke with since Wednesday agreed that he was above average. So why isn't he playing? Brooks may still be serving time for the comments he made in 2005 when the Saints, like New Orleans itself, were demoralized by unimaginable upheavals caused by Katrina.

I really think its because he sux and is not a leader. But we have been down this road.

Not a fan of fumbles the clown, but there may be something to this rumor. Think of all the teams that could have used a QB this year.....JAGS, Panthers, Chiefs, Ravens, Falcons. Ok the Falcons not calling him, I can understand.....but the other four teams all made a push for other QB's...hell even the Dolphins could have used AB at some point this year.....The Viks also.

I still like ole AB. I liked what he did when he was able; when he wasn't running for his life, or peeling himself up off of the turf. Pretty funny SoulStar: "Fumbles the Clown", now that's funny. Unlike many, I remember the WHOLE story.

I'm sure the 3 TD's, 8 INT's, 5 fumbles and 26 sacks had somethign to do with him being out of the league...

I’m not making the case that Brooks is the second coming of Johnny Unitas or Joe Montana; his career has been marked by high highs and bizarre lows. Brooks had better realize that if he wants back in, he’ll have to assume an unfamiliar mantle of humility and (gulp) gratitude.
