TURNER TO ATLANTA IS OFFICIAL

The Falcons have announced that they have agreed to terms with free-agent running back Michael Turner.

"We are pleased to be able to add a very talented running back and a player who has produced at a high level in this League when given the opportunity,” said Falcons General Manager Thomas Dimitroff in a press release. "We think he’s ready to take the next step and have a more prominent role in an offense and we are happy he decided that opportunity is going to be here in Atlanta."

Michael Smith of ESPN.com reports that the deal is for six years, and is worth $34.5 million. Also, Turner will get $15 million in guaranteed money.

I might be alone here, but I really don't think Turner's as good as everybody thinks. I know he played behind LT, but I think he's overrated.

Being behind their line certainly helped... he may be a bit overrated but he is a good talent.

I actually feel sorry for Norwood... I don't know why they didn't give him a legit shot starting. He's explosive.

I agree. I can see Turner slowly losing his shine there. He came from a very good rush team spelling the best back in the league to probably one of the worst. I truly hope this is a massive waste of money on their part.
