Brett Favre to Cover Madden 2009

I think this is a great idea. GamePro is pretty reliable source, so I think it's safe to say it's true. The only thing I don't understand is that he's no longer a member of the NFLPA - so I don't know what kind of hurdles, if any, that would present.

But wow.

Its because John Madden loves him so much. J/J Brett was the shizznet in his day.

This could take away the Madden curse for this year, at least. Unless it curses the entire Packers franchise.

Wow, is that respect or what???
Maybe they just didn't want to curse anyone else... :)

If they have announced that he is the cover guy, then the paperwork at least is already signed and sealed. He JUST filed his retirement papers, but if the agreement with Madden was signed before his retirement papers were filed, his continuing status with the NFLPA would be irrelevant.
