Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib was charged with misdemeanor simple battery today stemming from an incident with a cab driver two months ago, the Tampa Tribune is reporting.

The Pinellas County State Attorney's Office said Talib hit the cab driver, who drove Talib and two other Buccaneers from a St. Petersburg night club to a Tampa hotel on August 19.

According to the state's attorney, Talib hit Duggan while Duggan was driving on Interstate 275. "It was pretty hard as it was described to us," Assistant State Attorney Richard Ripplinger told the Tribune. "It hurt."

This isn't the first time Talib has been accused of hitting someone. At last year's rookie symposium, he got into a fight with then-teammate Cory Boyd. In a May minicamp practice he swung his helmet at teammate Donald Penn, missed, and accidentally hit Torrie Cox instead.

Talib did not offer any comment today. A Buccaneers spokesman said the team is monitoring the situation. Talib is expected to fly to London with the team on Friday for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
