Favre's brother: He "was beat to hell"

Brett Favre's brother says the first order of business for the Vikings quarterback is to heal from the battering he took at the hands of the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

"Right now he couldnít swing (a golf club)," Scott Favre told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "He was beat up physically and mentally. He was emotionally drained. Physically, he hurt both wrists, both ankles, one leg, head bruised. He was beat all to hell. Thatís part of it."

Scott Favre added that his brother flew home to Mississippi yesterday, and that he doesn't plan to pester him about whether he'll return to the Vikings next season.

"Weíll talk about at some point," he said. "Iím not not going to bring it up and ask him what heís doing because thereís no telling how many people have already asked him. But heíll talk about it at some point."

Scott said he doubts Brett has made a decision about whether to retire.

"No, I donít think he has," he said. "Itís such a tough loss that if he made a decision right now it wouldnít be one with a clear mind I donít think. I think he needs to get away from it. As beat up as he was emotionally, physically, he couldnít make the right decision or a clear decision right then."

It's all part of the game. You can't handle it, retire.

No sympathy from me, he knew what he was getting in to.

I've never seen a QB, look the way Favre did, in his postgame news conference Sunday night. He looked like he just got out of a car accident. Warner looked bad, but not that bad.

Manning might want to look out!

That country boy needs to explain that to the Purple Pansy Nation.

There is a picture of Y. A. Tittle, after a game in 1964, kneeling in the endzone, helmet off and blood rolling down his face. That was back when the QB was a football player.

This defense, when healthy, is scary. Literally scary. When opposing fans are crying because their QB got hit hard you know it's scary. I love it. I used to watch that Ravens D a few years back and say the same thing. I love beat 'em up defenses.
