Favre reportedly tried to recruit L.T. to play for Vikes

As speculation continues about Brett Favre’s decision to return for a 20th NFL season or retire, Newsday believes the quarterback has given a hint to his intentions.

A source told the newspaper that Favre was part of the recruitment process as the Minnesota Vikings tried to land RB LaDainian Tomlinson. While that in and of itself doesn’t mean Favre is going to play in 2010, the fact that he tried to help the Vikings bring in Tomlinson shows he’s still committed to the organization.

Favre has kept a low profile since he was a guest on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno earlier this month and said he was still undecided about his plans.

The Vikings have said they’re willing to wait on Favre’s decision.

Favre threw 33 touchdowns and just seven interceptions as he guided the Vikings to the NFC title game, where Minnesota lost in overtime to the eventual champion New Orleans Saints.

At this point, the Vikings have restricted free agent Tarvaris Jackson and veteran Sage Rosenfels on the QB depth chart, but would obviously hope Favre returns as the team has hopes of reaching the Super Bowl.
