Lawrence Taylor indicted on rape charges in NY

NEW YORK (AP)—Pro football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor has been indicted by a suburban New York grand jury on charges of rape, criminal sexual act and sexual abuse.

The indictment Wednesday comes after his May 6 arrest at a Holiday Inn. Prosecutors say he paid a 16-year-old girl $300 to have sex with him.

The former New York Giant was also indicted on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and patronizing a prostitute.

Lawrence Taylor has been indicted on rape charges for the incident involving a 16-year old prostitute he allegedly hired.



In addition to rape, a grand jury also indicted the NFL Hall of Famer on the following charges: criminal sexual act, sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child, and patronizing a prostitute.

Taylor was arrested in May at a Holiday Inn outside NYC. Prosecutors say he paid the girl $300 to have sex. Taylor denies having sex with her -- in fact sources connected to Taylor tell TMZ part of his defense will be that he masturbated.

LT's agent Mark Lepselter says their legal team "made a strategic decision to not put any of our evidence in front of the grand jury. We look forward to presenting our evidence at the appropriate time."

Yeah, it is sad.

LT, superball player. Made the game fun. Interesting. He thought the plays out and made the other play hard and get frustrated. He worked hard.

He had some bad brushes with the law...drugs.

Looked like he learned his lesson. Paid his dues. Got his head on right. Was enjoying in retirement and still raking in some money and attention/fame with the weight lost commericals, Dancing With The Stars, etc.

THEN to do this, worst, throw it all away...sad indeed.
It is like when will he learn? Is he incapable of learning?
I do not see how he can get out of this between the law and public opinion.

I LOVELOVE, could have gotten addicted to Mr.Gryos lamb sandwiches in that pitabread and feta cheese and ,what yogurt,whatever the sauce is.

Hey,I learned my lesson after trying Gryos sandwiches twice and just a plain lamb chop. I have had one of those sandwiches in decades,since college in the 80's.
