Back on topic.

LT is accused of paying a prostitute for sex. He knew it was illegal. Anything else that happened before and after can make him an "accessory" to those offenses.

Whether he is found guilty is yet to be determined, but is sure to be an example of just how far from justice our system sometimes bends.

What do you guys think? If convicted, should Hall-of-Famers like L.T. and more notably, O.J. Simpson, be removed from the HOF for this type of after career behavior? I know, he hasn't been convicted yet, and OJ was never convicted. Just wondering what you think.

No. They aren't Saints. They are football players, or baseball players, etc. What they do on the field warrants (or doesn't warrant) being in their sport's HOF.

And they aren't roll models either. Do you want your kid acting like Mick Jagger? There's no difference. Mommy and Daddy are (or should be) the roll models.

damn, i was telling my kids to be like Keith Richard.

I disagree. Bear in mind, I grew up idolizing O.J. (everybody who thinks he didnt kill Nicole, stand on their head.) The Black Sox and Pete Rose did great things on the field. But the HOF is an honor. You should be honorable. Look how Big Ben didnt get charged with anything, but Roger said, "tough, you shamed the game anyway--- so you sit."

LT did awesome things on the field, but he shamed the game off of it.

jmo.

ok, back off topic: "She Bop*, you Bop*, we all Bop*."

I think Mick took "Rocking" to a whole 'nuther level...not that there's anything wrong with that, but he's probably not your a-typical role model.

Hey, my kids can be rock stars if they want. My point is they're rock stars, not role models. A good guitar player does not a role model make. Neither does a good Football player...not due to their abilities as musicians or athletes anyway, unless of course we're talking about occupational role models, in which case Mick and LT are excellent role models. From a moral standpoint not so much.

The problem with any of the HOF's is the criteria isn't straight forward. But if being a thug at some point during one's career was a true limiting factor, the HOF in Ohio would have about half as many members.

Hmmmm...a Witness for the defense?

NEW YORK -- Lawrence Taylor's attorney says a woman has come forward as a defense witness in the NFL legend's sexual assault case to say he did not rape a 16-year-old girl.

The 23-year-old woman says in a sworn statement given to defense investigators that she accompanied the teen to the Holiday Inn north of New York City, where the girl was to meet Taylor.

She said that the girl returned to the car after the meeting with Taylor with $300 cash, and told her that they did not have sex.

Taylor's lawyer, Arthur Aidala, says he will use the woman's testimony to bolster his case.

The 51-year-old Taylor was charged May 6 with third-degree rape and patronizing a prostitute.

Ah ha. Let this be a lesson to all of you who jumped on LT's lynch mob, before the case played out. Not saying guilty, or innocent, either way. I will wait for all of the facts. And really, since chances are, I won't be on the jury, then it's not my place to judge him anyway.

btw, I was discussing ancient history, not current habits.
My new habits are much worse.

Didn't you say you are married Mike? If so, I'm sure your self gratifying habits ARE much worse. If it is anything like my marriage was that is....
