Head Coach vs. Quarterback
Wow. Good discussion on this on NFL Live.
Points said on the show-Head coach is the leader of the team. QB answers to him. Childress became a chaffeur, picking up Farve from the airport at the start of the season, and then Childress became a golpher. N.O was brought up as a good example of a right coach-qb relationship. Sean Payton -Dreww Brees was mentioned in that Payton gets and keeps respect from his QB ,players, and coaches. That is what the panel said. |

I honestly don't see how the people in Minnesota ever expected the Favre situation to work this year anyway. Even though they were one game away from the SB last year, I can't fathom how they thought having him skip training camp, having players fly down to see him and beg him to return, and giving him a healthy raise while he showed this type of "commitment" to the team was going to end up with a successful season. After the whole "he's retiring" B.S. that went on again with him during the off season, I felt the team was going to be dysfunctional at best. He is THE most selfish player I have ever watched in the NFL IMO. What other QB would slide into a sack and then celebrate with the guy who just got him just so he could be part of a sack record?

We surely are fortunate to have a QB with the attitude that Brees does!

I doubt seriously Sean would:
1. Bring in a QB like that. 2. Put up with a QB that started acting like that. Not so much fortune as it is design. |
