Chicago fans burn jersey of losing QB...

The Chicago Bears defended QB Jay Cutler on Sunday after he came under withering criticism from fans, analysts and even fellow players for having left an NFC title game loss to the Green Bay Packers with a knee injury.

Cutler exited the game, with the Bears trailing 14-0, early in the third quarter. He remained on the sidelines, spending some of the remainder of the game looking sullen in a seat on the bench and some of it standing on the sideline.

Third-stringer Caleb Hanie rallied the Bears in a game they would eventually lose 21-14, but some fans took out their frustration on Cutler by burning his jersey in the parking lots outside Soldier Field.

I wouldn't expect anything less out of their fans.

This sounds about right for Bears fans. I'm so glad the Packers won that game

Cutler has a torn MCL. Seems like a legit injury to me.

Drew would have played. Shoot, for all we know Drew played all year long on that injury.

Cutler handled it all wrong. It smacked of the AFC Championship game that L. Tomlinson took himself out of. They both were walking around during their respective games seemingly uninvolved. Not cheering. Not offering to help their backups.

I wouldn't burn my starting QB's jersey after a game but if I were a Bears fan I would be hacked too.

Ditto. But I'd also be ticked if I were the players. I could never imagine Drew Brees standing on the sideline not doing anything. He'd be the loudest supporter and doing whatever he could to help. Difference between mediocrity and having no ring and greatness with a ring....

Caleb Hanie !!!! These people are nuts crazy

I remember that game!! It was back when the offense sucked. Wow haven't thought of Wade Wilson in a long time. If I remember right, they had ppl wanting to see the back up in there. And Mora was stubborn (imagine that) and was sticking with what he wanted until Wilson went down.

Can't agree with the ppl cheering the Wilson injury but I do remember why it is they were cheering.

I remember when Hasslett kept "the forbidden one" in the game while everyone was screaming for Delhome. Even when it was discovered that forbidden had a throwing arm injury. I think you do what is going to give your team the best chance to win. If he was injured to a degree where it would hurt his team more than he did the right thing by sitting out. Not everyone is Farve and honestly Farve should have sat some games out after injury.

Keep it classy Bears fans.

Too many people wanted Delhomme period, long before Brooks' injury, during it, and after it. Jake even said at the time that he had the same injury in college and that he could still throw. We lost that game because of dropped passes, not because of Aaron's injury. The spin machine really took over...such a shame.

In that case, you've got a QB who's leading an offense to damn near 30 a game on average with an injury that didn't prevent him from throwing the ball, or a backup that had been cut from every team he'd ever been on who became a local hero because of his accent and one 5 yard slant pass for a first down.

Yes, I know. It's water under the bridge, but it's a sore spot with me.

Yeah, Mathius, there are stupid fans, who are not really fans, following all clubs.
Thing is ,no one makes the most out of real fans and those who would not stoop to this kind of madness, stupidity, just bad behavior.

I know it is water under the bridge. What I dont' get is all of the always negative:twisted: posts against Brooks. YES, he was a so-so qb. Really, the Saints have not had a really good qb and everything else working except for DB :p.
Brooks, Brooks, what about Dave Wilson, Richard Todd, John Fourcade?:???:
Kenny Stabler was on his very last years with his best years over. Bobbby Hebert and Archie Manning were okay. YES, they are close to N.O.(Cut Off ,LA and Mississippi), but taking the romance and likability away , they were just okay qb's.:???:
