Halo 08-19-2011 08:52 PM

I'll still take my chances without him saving 12million dollars this year, making room to beef up the defense and picking up Sproles. His performance was about what he did here when he was healthy.

He's a good football player.

Bush's problem isn't that he's not a player. He just can't stay healthy and we just couldn't afford him. :bng:

Reggie having a good preseason

From what I saw he had a 17 yard run, where he actually ran over someone and a good 17 yard catch. How long can he keep it up who knows.

10 touches 80 yards I think. 8-53 on the ground and they said he looked good running through the tackles. They're going to give him a legit chance to shoulder the load over there if what I read.

Good for Reggie. Like I said before, this was the best decision for him. Fresh start and try to become a full time impact player in this league. He got his ring and fair share of money... time for him to try to reach fulfill his full potential. Should make for a nice fantasy sleeper this year. I hope he takes the league by storm.

Maverick2299 08-19-2011 09:07 PM

Good for him, he finally gets to be the main attraction.

GeauxForMore 08-19-2011 09:40 PM

You know I understand what you guys are saying, but he did have plenty enough chances here to become the main attraction and be a impact player. Just didn't live up to the hype. But I hope he has a good season, but he will really impress me if he can go through a entire season without sitting out any games.

|Mitch| 08-19-2011 09:42 PM

Just a matter of time before injuries catch up with him; again.

I do think in some part... a result of our offense. It's hasn't been designed to highlight any particular player besides Drew. Maybe now knowing that he's going to be the man will give him more reason to focus, harden up, and fight through bumps and bruises.

Hmmmm

You know that does make sense. I mean Brees gives everyone a chance with the ball, so he is the only guy with the big time stats. We have so many weapons so it was easy to replace Bush with Spoles. Theres not alot of talent with the phins. So he going to get more touches and more yards, but I don't think he is going to make it though a entire year with a heavier work load.

papz 08-19-2011 10:03 PM

Definitely a valid concern... he's had a poor track record of staying off the bike.

As far as I know, Reggie didn't "sit out" any games.

I will give you that he was injuried and unable to play a lot of the time.

hitta 08-19-2011 10:28 PM

Reggie Bush is the type of runner that needs enough carries in a game to be able to develop a consistency. Elusive/Juke runners tend to actually learn how to handle certain defenders throughout the game. In New Orleans the offense was far too diverse for Reggie Bush to impact the game in the way he is capable of. I think he'll be pretty good in Miami, but oddly I think we also made the right move in trading him. I am not trying to attempt comparing him to Barry Sanders, but Sanders also was a type of back that had a lot of plays of lost yards, those same plays that people complain with Reggie Bush about.

QBREES9 08-20-2011 12:15 AM

He still has to play the season. Good Luck to him like I've said before. There's 16 games to play.

That's true, and he very well may get hurt, but I honestly think his rate of injury will go down with more reps per game. I'd like to see him do well also. Many people think he didn't care about winning or whatever while he was here, but I think a lot of his problems were the result of caring what everyone else thought too much.

Beastmode 08-20-2011 12:23 AM

I just watched his "big" 17 hard run. There was nobody around, the defense looked softer than bread pudding.

jcp026 08-20-2011 12:34 AM

I'm rooting for him and hope he stays healthy. No hard feelings here.

Beastmode 08-20-2011 12:44 AM

No hard feelings here either but if Miami fans think he's going to miraculously start gashing up the middle when he couldn't do it behind some of the best linemen in the game, well all I can say is I'm not going to crush their dreams. Just point out reality.

dizzle88 08-20-2011 06:46 AM

I'm not hating on Reggie or anything, but he put up those stats in a few games when he played for us - when he had the Right mind set!

One day he wants to run over some one, next week he runs out bounds, if he proves me wrong then I'll take it back, but until then he's no consistent enough and Sproles is better

ALLSAINTS66 08-20-2011 07:59 AM

Who?

QBREES9 08-20-2011 08:00 AM

All the Best the To Reggie. Maybe the weight of world is off his shoulders.

QBREES9 08-20-2011 08:04 AM

Way to much money for him.

Ashley 08-20-2011 08:20 AM

Good for him, wish him well and good health. Now it's time to put this dog to rest. Move along

Fleured 08-20-2011 03:48 PM

I like Reggie and all and don't wish him ill, but he is not the solo act in Miami. If he convinced himself and the coaching staff that he is the focus of their backfield, then Sporano is definitely looking to remove himself.
They bring in Reg, and then feel Brown and Williams are expendable. I'm wondering if Henne is looking into the Toronto Argonauts job. http://209.85.12.234/html/emoticons/mellow.gif

Fleured 08-25-2011 07:55 AM

I hope Reg doesn't feel threatened with Larry Johnson being signed semi-recently. http://209.85.12.234/7361/20/emo/smiley_newspaper.gif
