This is great news in my opinion... His part was my least favorite of the MNF experience, at least since they replaced the annoying and clueless Kornheiser with Gruden.

I don't know if they need another musical act to open the game - I'd be fine with something like the Frank Gifford historical intro into the game and just cut to - TAN TAN TAN TAAAAN - and the game would start.

Alternatively, Tom Petty would be cool like Strato mentioned, but he might seem too phlegmatic for the type of production the MNF is and his very liberal views on f.e. marijuana usage would probably be a hindrance as well.

Sad to see someone get fired for freedom of speech, to bad it couldnt have been the three stooges! ( Obama, Pelosi, and reed) What Hank jr. said was his opinion, at least he is not out there lying about other people to try to make himself look better. If you can't run on your own record, Your only recourse is to make other people look bad with a continuous avalanche of lies. Go ahead and tell us what good you have done? the economy? yeah right! Employments up uh? yeah right. You killed Bin Laden? Yeah sure! You pulled the trigger! Yeah right. Lowered the national debt? Maybe if you had done that, we would not have the credit rating of a third world country. Really? we lost our AAA credit rating? Oh? Congress did all that? What about the congress that had control prior to this year? You know? the democrat controlled congress? are they getting blame for the two previous years of this debt and economy? all these problems didn't start this year with this congress?
One more thing, if you believe in wealth redistribution, you can no longer dream the american dream, you know, the one where you dream of being successful and maybe one day making it rich! If you believe in wealth redistibution you fall into two categories, politicians who want to control your vote, or lazy people who don't want to work for what they get.

Wow.... I hated Bush, but by our system, he was my president, and I hated his policies, but I never compared him to a dictator. This was an opinion that he should have kept to himself, or wrote a song about. I care about HWjr's political opinions, about as much as I care about Ryan Seacrest's..... Glad Hank is gone from MNF. Time for a change anyway.

You know, this is not a "Freedom of Speech" issue. Hank Jr. has every right to say whatever he wants, now matter how stupid it may be. His Freedom of Speech has not been infringed upon! What he is experiencing is the cosequenses of his exercising his Freedom of Speech. We all have the right to say anything we want. Millions of people have died protecting our right, and Hank's rights, to be able to say whatever we want to say. However, if we say somthing publicly, and our employer thinks we are poorly representing their interest, then they have every right to fire us. To be honest with you, I was a little worried about SkyMike a couple of weeks ago when he started the thread about the Houston Fans. So Hank, and us, can go ahead and say anything he wants to, but just remember, there could be cosequenses to the things we say.
