Janikowski has been so good for a long time. I would have no problem if he broke Dempseys record.

That record is a bit of an enigma. First, Dempsey played for us, what 2 seasons? Not exactly what you would call an all-time Saint great

Second, we were terrible those years. A VERY small bright spot from dark times.

Third, we have had a ton of success since then. We are no longer defined by a journeyman kicker's FG or Danny Abramowicz running into a sideline camera

Technically the record has already been tied by Jason Elam in 1998 and Janikowski in September of 2011.

Yes the record has been tied but the Dempsey field goal WON THE GAME, the others didn't...to me that makes Dempsey's kick the one that still hasn't been bested
